@tsarstepan,
I was perusing the menu to a restaurant I will patronizing tomorrow evening and I stumbled onto this wine description. Query follows:
Quote:
GOTHAM PROJECT RIESLING 2013 ~ FINGER LAKES, NEW YORK
honeysuckle, tangerine, limestone

What does limestone taste like??

I might chose a glass of the following:
Quote:
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES ROSÉ 2013 ~ COLUMBIA VALLEY, WASHINGTON
wild strawberries, white pepper, rhubarb
ossobuco

@tsarstepan,
Interesting. I love that area, and not just for the wine, it's beautiful. Have been to a fair amount of the vineyards as that's where we would go off to for long weekend type vacations, for years, and I still drove through there when I moved north. Longer route than highway 5, but much more pleasant.
Scary about the water situation. I certainly hope Harvard smartens up re the big drilling plans.

Just watched an interesting documentary on the economic tidal forces of China on Bordeaux French wines as well as the global wine market. Red Obsession (2013) which was also narrated by Russell Crowe with an interesting assortment of talking heads.

@tsarstepan,
You got: Shiraz
You’re sophisticated and fun. You prefer red meat to white meat and definitely aren’t a vegetarian. You enjoy warm weather and love going for long, scenic drives. You can be a tough nut to crack though, and only laugh at jokes if you actually think they’re funny.

I'm adding this because I remember not knowing what wine to order, if any, with indian food.

Worth a read.

@tsarstepan,
They would snap like twigs in the dishwaher.

As I get older I think about these practicalities.

Why, only yesterday, during our early heatwave (27c wow) a twenty something stunner walked past on her way to the park, wearing micro skirt and crop top.

As I went to get my binoculars, my initial worry was that she would catch a chill.

I'd assume they were hand wash only.
