Oh, I've heard that name mentioned before, and not only by you, lord ellpus. And yet, and yet, I've never fully understood what it is. Sponge, does that mean cake? pudding? I believe I will look about on google.

Served piping hot, with plenty of custard, it fills the space between the belly and the backbone and saves one having to wear a vest for 24 hours, even in the coldest of weather.

It's a worrisome day, watching the coverage of approaching Hurricane Rita. I have friends in Seabrook (El Lago) which is in a very vulnerable area. Can't reach them on their cell phone..."all circuits busy." There's been no answer at their home since I began calling yesterday, so all I can do is assume they're already gone. Still....

I would imagine that many of us have friends and associates in the path of this storm.

I asked Sophie to put on a big pot of coffee for us while we wait it out. Please join me.

Would you like French Vanilla-Hazelnut Roast, Kona Blend, or decaf Cinnamon Mocha? Cream, sugar or sugar substitute?

Who do you know near the Coast?

ahhh.. > big sigh<

Im watching people in my neighborhood put plywood over their windows.
Grocery stores are on thier last leg of bottled water and there are holes in the isles as never before.
Parking lots are filled with people scampering to store food and water for themselves as if they were going to have to leave the planet.
Traffic is thickest around Sams and other bulk stores and you can feel the tension in the air.

austin is 200 miles inland and WAY above sea level.
Confused
Panic, is a strange emotion. Plucked so simply yet so easily validated..

Could I have a little tea?

No milk. No lemon. No sugar.

Just a little tea.

You're right, Shewolf. Mass panic is a strange and frightening thing. Especially when it's happening right around you.

Austin should be far enough inland not to panic that much, I would think. At least I hope. I'd still prepare for a big storm, though, if I were you. Are you ready?

Yes, please do help yourself, Colorbook. Just let Sophie know if she needs to refill the pot.

Here you go, Noddy. Earl Grey, OK?
