Oh Francis, if we had only known you before we made travel arrangements. Next time we are in Europe, France will be at the top of the list.
Tonight, I feel like champagne. It is the one drink that always, always, makes me feel like I can fly (as long as it is very good champagne).
The night they invented champagne
It's plain as it can be
ALL:
They thought of you and me
The night they invented champagne
They absolutely knew
That all we'd want to do
Is fly to the sky on champagne
And shout to everyone in sight
That since the world began
No woman or a man
Has ever been so happy as we are to-night!
Diane, Champagne makes you fly? I've gotta see this first hand, so I'm buying you a glass (the cheap one, ofcoarse!).

Diane, it's never too late! I'll wait you!
For now let me offer you a glass of champagne from this special vintage :
There must be ants in France!
(by the time people see this post, the april fool's day ants will probably be gone... it's toooo funny.
I see Paris, I see France, I see Craven's underpants, hee, hee, hee.
Francis, I've never even seen that brand of champagne. It might actually cause lift-off to the rest of the universe. I'm ready to go!
Honestly, where is that Francis? Everytime I'm ready to see more of Paris, he's busy ogling the ladies.
<whistles> Francis! Your group is waiting! Where are we going next?
You may wait there, I'm taking the métro and make then my favourite morning walk again here
Francis didn't arrive yet - I'll have my lunch here
What are you doing in canal St Martin, Walter?
It's my favourite place in Paris - well, one of the few real ones.
(Unfortunately, it's only a virtual visit today.)
Sorry - didn't want to disturb this thread with my prejudices
At least you are not disturbing me...
Not disturbing at all, Walter! I'd love to join you for that walk, if you'd like some company. Breakfast was lovely.
Come, let's walk while Francis arranges for our taxis...
Hey, Walter, quit teasing us! LOL When I first saw the bench, I thought you were planning to have lunch there, but Cafe de Nord seems like a more inviting place. Is it close to the Nord train station? I remember going to a cafe about one block from the station to have lunch, but don't remember that one.
May I step in for a bit?
Mr B and I did our semi-annual wine cooler restocking yesterday. We bought a couple dozen bottles of various wines from California, France, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Brazil. They ranged in price from very little to too much but we enjoy them so, what the heck. We like to sample different wines and we always have the intent of taking notes on which ones we like the best so we can get more. We never quite get around to doing that though. It's almost more fun to go back a few months later and wander the aisles with a clean slate.
We do have one favorite that we get whenever we find it and that's the cabernet from Silver Oak vineyards in CA. At $54.00/bottle it's a special occasion wine but it is wonderful.
Okay, Eva - a nice walk:
(c.i. - you can see on the map, where the hotel is situated.)
The Canal Saint Martin connects the Seine river in Paris to the Canals l'Ourq and Saint Denis and then goes into the Seine again.
Perhaps, we have to wait some time, until Francis arrives (if he isn't sunburnt!)

This place is not very far from Gare du Nord but it's closest to Gare de L'Est.
