@cicerone imposter,
I usually drink vodka martinis on wine cruises, and three will affect me to the point I'll start slurring my words. I try to always stop at 2.

I never could hold my liquor, no matter what age. I was always easy prey....
luckily I rarely have a taste for alcohol and when I do it's very moderate.

My vice is anything chocolate, cakes, donuts, you name it. If it has enough sugar in it, I am hooked!

I do enjoy white wine (and occasionally red), but I very rarely have more than one glass.

Because of one particular medication I'm on, that one glass now affects me the way two drinks used to.

@Eva,
Hi Eva, off course I could cook but I felt that we should all suprise you Smile

We are all taking you out for dinner this weekend, both of you to celebrate you need a break from this Restaurant and we've organised for it to be closed for a night due to a function Wink They are just re-arranging the table so it is one big round table so we can all talk together, there will be other suprises though as well, but I'll let the others add those and show you, don't get shocked Wink

Just a couple of the dishes we have ordered for you, well we will share as well off course....

Now for the real suprises to follow by your regular patrons off you go you lot ...

Smile

@Eva,
The stuff sends my blood sugar crashing, unless I'm fairly well fed to start with. This can trigger an eating binge. Usually not problem, as I'm typically pretty well fed at the end of the day, anyway.

Roger you were in on the surprise? You have to contribute to that, for Eva and her husbands 29th Anniversary, I guess you are waiting for the finale Wink We did draw from a hat, wonder what Osso, Prince and the others had / have up their sleeves Smile

I'm still covering my eyes, FS. Tell me when it's OK to open them!

Our local peaches are ripening early this year, thanks to the warmer-than-usual temperatures. Grown in a small town named Porter close to here, they are extraordinarily sweet. Anyone care to join me for Peach Bellinis?

@Eva,
I'd rather have this: peach, pecan cobbler....

@ossobuco,
That is only semi joking. I was never interested in the famed Harry's bar, or Bellinis.

It could work.

A Bellini bar would never make it in Porter! Rural Oklahoma is nothing like rural California. It's redneck country here outside the cities. Porter does, however, have an annual Peach Festival (starts Thursday!) with turtle races, frog jumping contests, carnival rides and free peaches & ice cream. It's like a blast from the past. We often go for the food, but we ALWAYS leave before the tractor pull. I do have my limits.

@CalamityJane,
Ooh! That looks wonderful, CJ! SO much better than the typical peach cobbler. (I hate that stuff.)

@Eva,
I loved Porter Peaches.

There is a bicycle ride loop that takes you through Haskell and Coweta until you are beyond tuckered and then you turn left and end up in Porter at that little white-front cafe.

I would order the big shortcake and peaches (no whipped cream)(just cream) in a bowl and drink iced tea and eat until it was getting dark. (I think it was just biscuits with extra sugar)

Half of us would head home to Tulsa, half of would head down to Muskogee to Slick's for bbq and beers.

@Joe Nation,
I made peach shortcake (with real whipped cream) last weekend with the first Porter peaches I found at the store. I think it was even better than the strawberry version.

Peach shortcake...THEN Slick's? I would burst! Shocked

@the prince,
Well we went away, to that restaurant and seems Walter was the one to show the suprise a massage .. Mind you, I had one today sooooooooooooo needed it Smile

I have to say, here anyway... Any stone fruit gets all wrinkly in 2 days if bought at the stores.. Nothing like the real thing..

Sound familiar there Prince? Smile
