@FOUND SOUL,
Those salads look good to me. So, does the master server juggle on the side? Probably not, too much like life at work.

Which reminds me to mention a long time favorite movie of mine, not least for the orange and fish scenes, no, not at the same time: Bread and Chocolate

this wiki link is a spoiler, but doesn't tell the half of it:

@cicerone imposter,
Geez, sorry for the multiple fart like replies while I was responding regarding cucumbers. I meant playing with ellipses, but not meaning the repeats.

Commedia dell'Arte.

OK, Commedia delle Farte (or something like that).

@CalamityJane,
No, it hasn't cooled down here. But we went out for a late dinner after the sun went down, so it was better then. If we do anything outdoors in July and August, it pretty much has to be before 11 a.m. or after 8 p.m.

Sweaters in July?! I was thinking about that just today. It looks like we'll be in San Francisco and Seattle at the end of the month. We'll have to dig out a few sweaters for that trip! Seattle's highs are about the same as our lows this time of year.

@ossobuco,
Osso, I made your Nutty Sage Pate a couple of days ago, after I found whole hazelnuts at the expensive grocery store. Laughing I've been nibbling on it for a couple of days. It's really good, but very rich...a little goes a long way. Does it freeze well? I don't think I can eat all of this within a few days, and I'd hate for it to go to waste.

@Eva,
Mark Twain said something wise about SF in August. Something about winter.

I've never lived in Sf but have been around there dozens of times in varying months. A blazer might be good, but then you could buy a good one there.
Think layers.

Eureka's summer high used to be average 63. Think of it as midway between.

@Eva,
Yes, it freezed ok for me. Just stir it.
Well, it worked here.

I'm less enamored, this last time, which is too bad. I may have to doctor it up.

@ossobuco,
The seasonings are great, but I'm thinking it should be more spreadable. Maybe if I decrease the amounts of nuts & seeds, it will be creamier. As it is, I can't really taste the cream cheese.

Haha, that's funny - osso talked repeatedly about less fart inducing, but I don't know what is less fart inducing? Laughing

What spread are you talking about?

@Eva,
It's more spreadable after it warms up out of the refrigerator. Me, I'd like it somewhere in between.

@CalamityJane,
Go back and click on the "@CalamityJane" at the top of her post. It will take you straight to the post she's commenting on.

And we're talking about the Nutty Sage Pate recipe she posted last week. It's very good! (With cream cheese, hazelnuts & fresh sage, how could it not be?!)

@Eva,
Oh thanks, I even have fresh sage at home, in addition to cream cheese and nuts...I am checking the recipe now.

@CalamityJane,
Here it is...I'll cut & paste it for you.

Nutty Sage Pate

1 cup of shelled hazelnuts, toasted (I used almonds, didn't toast them)
1/4 cup sesame seeds
8 oz cream cheese
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/3 tsp salt
1/3 tsp black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons milk

Grind seeds and nuts. Beat cream cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, sage, and oil together in a bowl. And nuts and seeds. Add milk. Serve chilled.

@Eva,
Meantime I looked all over in my local market for sesame seeds, as I'm now out of them. I looked at the two cheapo sections (which I've been happy enough with, sometimes very happy re chile peppers), but nothing about sesame seeds. Poppy seeds, yes, cumin seeds, yes, sesame, no. I finally found McCormicks sesame seeds in a wee container in, I guess, the Anglo Aisle. They're kidding.

@CalamityJane,
The so called (what do I know) english cucumbers are said to be less fart enducing. (Or, since I might not remember right, less burp enducing.)

@ossobuco,
Goodness, I'll have to try real hard not to whip anything up that is going to create so much farting, it's all through the last 10 posts, lucky I am on the other side of the World Smile

I'm going to try that hazelnut dish, sounds magic.

Seseme seeds are absolutely everywhere here, I love them toasted.

I gave you the been dish with miso and toasted seseme seeds. I have a craving lots for toasted almonds over veg... Mmmm what to whip up next...

@spendius,
A study some years ago found that women fart on average about 30 times a day whereas men came out at 35.

Critics of the study claimed that the women were under-reporting due to their understandable delicacy.

We used to have our annual FART LIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP on Boxing Day but Mrs Jolly won every year. We packed it in when she set fire to the decorations with a sheet of azure blue flame.
