Yeah, but good beer and coffee, too. It hasn't been a total loss.
OK, I'll shut up now...
Mmm, beer.
Oh! I almost forgot something! Li'l-kay, if the little donut stall at the Public Market is open, get yourself a dozen sprinkled with cinnamon. Wonderful fresh little donuts.
(An old Seattle friend -- now in New Jersey, alas -- swore by the fresh-roasted cashews at the stall opposite the donuts, but to me its only about the donuts. Mmmmmmmmmmm..........)
Beer and coffee, my two favorite food groups.
That donut thing sounds great! Any chance they sell them apiece?
I'm sure they do, littlek. Lots of visitors stop by the Market...
Phew! I guess I could've bought a dozen and given 10 or 11 away....
Yummm..... there's lots of goooood food shops in the Pike Place Market!!!

On the map of the Market, in Bldg 9, there's a tiny shop that sells wonderful pastries. I always buy a cheese roll there!!
The Market map is deceiving, in that it makes the streets look flat. Actually, Pike, Pine, Stewart, Virginia are all steep hills!!
Good walk by souvlaki sandwiches at one stall (and lots of fish, of course).
The donuts are very small. I think you can get a half-dozen, which is really about the equivalent of a large fritter.
Is this the donut place on the south alley of Pike Place, in the corner near the fish stalls? Those are tiny little doughnuts that remind me of beignets. Good while hot and I think you can buy just one. One of my favorites is Tenzing Momo nearby. The newstand on the east end of that alley is amazing, too and there's a kiosk for 1/2 price show tickets. I love the market!
That's the one. But just a single, solitary little fresh-fried donut? Piff, I hadn't pegged you as an ascetic.
so.... for those who are wondering <anyone wondering?>, I postponed my trip to the NW until this summer. After much discussion with my sister, I believe I'll be heading out there fo the 4th of July (July1-9). I'll fly into Seattle and drive/train to BC to a condo we're all renting, head over to Vancouver, back down through Seattle to Portland and leave from there. I'm thinking about maybe staying in Seattle for the night and trying to see some of you who expressed interest in meeting as well as the city itself. Early stages here, I'll be back with more details.
I thought you ditched me!
aaaaawwww, thanks for wondering.
No, I didn't ditch anyone.
Hey, my birthday's July 5. You gonna bring me a present?
(Seriously, though, great choice. The summer is the -- or, rather, THE -- time to be out here. It's beautiful when the sun's out, and the people are so much more friendly and open as a result of it. We get our {whatever that chemical the sun makes you produce} levels back up in the summer.)
VItamin D.... also sunlight provides the body with luetine (I'm not sure how to spell the latter).
Great! I love Vitamin D! Yum!
Great news, littlek; I'd been wondering, too. And, as patiodog says, early July is the perfect time to visit. Long, sunny days, cool nights, low humidity.
It just about is. I know folks who miss really hot weather--it rarely hits 90 degrees here--but I'm not among them!
