Bill, of course, you're right. I appreciate you being man enough to stand on principle. Doesn't get one too far here, however.

Thankfully, I don't have a frail old grandmother to imagine being raped, as Stillwater suggested and dlowan justified. And anyone who is honest knows full well after looking at the progression of comments you provided exactly what was said by whom.

Some people just refuse to face reality, when it makes them or their buds look bad.

Somebody mentioned an apology... I didn't see one. Guess it was directed to someone else.

I know some here who would have hit the Report button without hesitation, having been the object of such an egregious personal insult...

It seems his champion suggests if one has been sufficiently angered, such a personal insult is understood. Well, then, considering the anger-causing diatribes leveled at things, places and people I hold dear--I guess I should cuss out the lot of you--and suggest sexual violence against your frail relatives.

I'm sure dlowan would rush to my defense.

Well, I like French hip-hop too, but no, I dont think his was all too relevant.

Thomas on the other hand neatly covers all the relevant serious argument bit (and that in just the one paragraph too) - while Pan makes the obvious point I would have made, in his tongue-in-cheek way.

Nothing to add there. Should have put the whole thing to bed.

Btw Lash, no appreciation necessary. I like to step in when people are unfairly ganged up on by folks for BS. Probably would have been avoided if Still had put his apology in the same thread as his offense (I didn't see it until it was pointed out either)... or if folks weren't so dead-set on defending his deplorable remarks, even though he knew himself that he was wrong. Which was very insightful and wise... but doesn't excuse looking past the far greater of two evils to criticize your favorite adversary. The hypocrisy and team effort to defend it that manifested itself here was more surprising to me than Still's disgusting comment was in the first place.

Yep - and dlowan condemned the whole sequence of it as "offensive". It's only when you replied that yeah, Stilly's joke was really distasteful (unlike yours about the slutty French women who were so up for it they didnt even needed to be raped, I s'pose) that she pointed out the sequence, while even then still condemning Stilly as well.

Err, Bill - not that I've suddenly turned A2K's interpretor or anything - but I think "the larger issue being discussed" here was McGentrix's original question. Ie: why people spring up in defence of France upon coming across yet another Frenchie-bashing thread. "It's not so much defending as pointing out irrational vitriol", Soz said. Check.

And, you, she and I know FULL WELL who she meant. In her zeal to make a negative remark to me, she overlooked her bud was guilty of the offense--and I had made a delightful funny--in response to the beginning of the "rape introduction", provided by Magus. That is hardly what's dominated the last 8 pages of this thread, Nimh... and I was under the impression Soz wrote her post as a response to what I had written. I'm quite confident she can speak for herself and that I can understand her without assistance... but I'll give you a holler if I get stuck. :wink:
