@oralloy,
The Australian states who did the largest gun buy back had the largest decline in crime, so the correlation seems strong.

Why do you even care to have laws against murder, if laws are inefficient, ie if they won't stop crazy people doing crazy things? :-)

Was their rate of decrease greater than the rate of decrease in the other states before the gun ban took effect?

Did the gun ban change their rate of decrease any, or did their decrease simply continue at the same rate as before?

The largest gun buybacks..... Were these the most populous states that had these larger decreases?

Seriously? I took your question as a throw away line because it was inane.

It's to keep the non-crazies from murdering each other. Duh.

Dumb move:

But since they're a law firm I suppose they can afford to pay all of the gun manufacturers' legal bills after the case is thrown out of court.

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- MGM Resorts International has sued hundreds of victims of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history in a bid to avoid liability for the gunfire that rained down from its Mandalay Bay casino-resort in Las Vegas.

@tsarstepan,
Unless you want the New York Times to track where you are linking their articles (and who is clicking on the links) you might want to strip these codes out of their URLs:

&user_id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
&regi_id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There are some cases where some the code after the question mark is necessary in a link. But many times a link will work just fine if you remove the question mark and everything after it.

Facebook Click ID (&fbclid=xxxxxxxxxxxxx) is another one that is good to remove from links.

Thanks. I used to clean up links I posted here (because I thought they were likely to be glitchy when that long) ... but got lazy. I'll have to return to cleaning them up again.
