Interestingly, perhaps, that review is from a 'conservative' site - with major book areas ...

This is so funny.

They're pissed because we don't mind being called neocons--so now, they're trying to rename us again.

They'll keep calling the think tank for more names--while we win all the elections.

the neo-super-bad-mean-scary-Jacobin-Christian party...

I don't want another name, I happen to like neo-con, it kind of sounds scary. "Here come the big bad NEO-CONS, everybody run for social programs."

Well it should be scary because it has the libs pardon me "progressives" on the run. I wonder how many times they can try and rename themselves to remove the stigmata of socialism!

It's pretty hard for them to be the 'progressives' when it is the Neo-cons who have all the progressive ideas lately. Smile

Hey Fox do you listen to Laura Ingram? I love her song for the Dem party. Groucho Marx singing "what ever it is I'm against it". That is great and embodies the left right now!

No, I watch Fox and Friends early A.M. and then usually have C-span or 770 KOB radio running in the background during the work day. Laura is on a sister station and I don't ever think to switch over there. I have heard her from time to time when travelling though and she is very good at what she does. Next time I run across her, I'll listen for the song.

(I'm addicted to one of Sean Hannity's theme songs: "Let Freedom Ring".....it gives me goose bumps every time I hear it.)

Neo-Jacobins - I like it. Does this mean they cut off our noses to spite their faces?

Hmmm - gives Reign of Terror a new slant....but, I guess the guillotine would be out of the question - (French and all) - the "freedom slicer"? The convent bit is apt...

Robespierre, the guiding hand of the French "Terror", was the chief "progressive " of his day. The essence of the "progressive" political movement is a body of people who view themselves as the knowing elite who know what is good for everyone else and who are ultimately willing to force others to accept it. This is evident in the contemporary speech codes at American universities where "progressive' academics have decided just what are the limits of free speach and wwhat can and cannot be said on campus or at university sponsored events.

... and Thomas Jefferson greatly admired him for being it. I think when Lash called her side "the neo-super-bad-mean-scary-Jacobin-Christian party", she was merely being true to her ideological heritage.

Hmmmm... I thought she was being sarcastic and demonstrating the point that labels are ignorant.

Is that her ideological heritage?

And you thought I was not? Can't we quiche-eating, French-speaking, gay-marriage-endorsing libertarians take the occasional cheap shot at conservatives anymore?

My favorite pic of the week!

http://www.voanews.com/english/images/ap_Syrian_Agents_Lebanon_210_eng_15mar05.jpg

"Witnesses say Syrian intelligence agents in the Lebanese capital have begun evacuating their headquarters, one day after a massive protest in Beirut aimed at ending Syria's military presence in the country."

Head 'em up! Move 'em out! Rawhide!

Also Tuesday, Syrian military intelligence agents vacated an office in Beirut, hauling furniture into three trucks protected by Lebanese police. A policeman at the scene said some Syrian agents had already left and the others were on their way out.

I suppose, they leave as part of the Syrian troops.

Tico, just my curiosity but what do you do with us liberals that enlisted and fought in the trenches and came home with the firm belief that war is not the way to change the world for the better?
