Democratic Vote-Hunting

The Poodle [Kerry] and The Hildabeast [Clinton] held a press conference in Washington yesterday to advance their proposals for "election reform." Of course, it's important to remember that liberals only want election reform when they lose. If they win, the system worked fine. Remember the media template: liberals are victorious, conservatives take power.

So naturally, since Democrats are having problems at the polls, it's time to rig the game a little further in their favor. Senators Clinton and Kerry went to the podium in Washington D.C. and proceeded to propose the following nonsense: 1.) That Election Day be made a federal holiday to encourage voting and 2.) Allow ex-felons to vote. It's called the "Count Every Vote Act" so named in honor of the liberal myth that not all votes were counted in the 2000 election.

It's hard to know where to even begin with this legislative pant load. First, John Kerry lied outright at the press conference when he said "This has nothing to do with me. It is not partisan, or shouldn't be." Riiiight. If it has nothing to do with him, then what was he doing at the press conference? The Poodle wants to further cement his victim status as somebody that was somehow ripped off in the 2004 election.

Then there's the whole question of making Election Day a federal holiday. We don't need any more holidays. If it were made a federal holiday, millions and millions of dollars would be lost because we would have to pay federal employees not to work that day. That would be a nice little payout to the Democratic government employee unions. And letting convicted felons vote? Boy, the Democrats are really getting desperate.

Since the left can't get votes at the ballot box the old-fashioned way, they're resorting to trying to rig the game. This whole plan will probably go nowhere, and for good reason.

In that same piece Tico, here is this:

THEY ALWAYS COME BACK

Leftist liberals always announce that if a Republican is elected president of the United States, they're leaving the country. Then when said Republican is elected or re-elected, they always manage to stay. The reason? The United States is the best damn country in the world, and they know it. Where else will people pay them millions of dollars to entertain us, in spite of their extreme political views?

So anyway, news of a different sort out of the entertainment world yesterday. This time coming from rock singer Alanis Morissette. First though, a little background. In April of 2004, speaking at the Canadian Juno awards. Morissette had this to say about the United States: "We live in a land (Canada) where we still think the human body is beautiful and we're not afraid of the female breast." (Take a gander at her outfit. Warning for those at work: it's a nude suit) She was, of course, criticizing all of the uproar over Janet Jackson's Super Bowl flash. She also complained about a US radio station that made her change some of the naughty lyrics in one of her songs, saying: "They're in an era when they're scared, when there's lots of fear." Sounds like Ms. Morissette doesn't like the United States very much.

Now flash-forward back to today. Last week, she took the oath of citizenship in Los Angeles and is now an American citizen. Speaking of the honor, she said "There was a turning point during the ceremony where I felt connected to this country in a way that I didn't quite expect. America has been really great to me and I have felt welcomed since the day I came here."

They always come back.

(There is a great link to Morissette in a nude suit)

Note: At the bottom of the piece is a great reading list. Smile

Thanks, Foxy!!! Those "reading assignments" are great!

I especially like this one:

"Good news for "progressive thinkers" (leftist windbags.) Clear Channel is adopting liberal programming. They're going to have to be careful....falling asleep while driving is not considered safe."

At least Mrs. Clinton has dropped her previous suggestion to abolish the electoral college. We have almost 5 million convicted felons, not counting those currently in prison - any idea that prisoners should vote?

Which reminds me of another Mrs. Clinton brilliant idea back in her "health care reform" mode, that mental illness is just like any other illness - insurance coverage parity was the aim - so if people in hospitals can vote, why not those in insane asylums?

We may have a Democratic majority right there - somebody better follow these developments <G>

reminds of of a tiny bit of history, when the developmentally disabled (retarded) got the right to vote, the repubs (in large part) decried their right while the libs rejoiced, turned out the DD population voted overwhelmingly for Nixon and the shoe ws on the other foot. fun ain't it? I love a parade, doesn't everyone?

PDiddie - since you reside in the fifth basement (you're trying to avoid those ICBMs from the failure of the Star Wars Defense, remember???) you may wish to reconsider that last activity <G>

Diane - memory is given to others as well, and I remember President Clinton flying back to Arkansas specially for the execution of a man so retarded that when given his last meal before the electric chair he asked that his dessert be kept in the refrigerator so he could eat it later.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I thought Clinton was really a Republican.

You don't mean to say you're against the death penalty, do you? Shocked

This is relevant to the right to vote? Oh, never mind I guess you meant if the developmentally disabled had not been given the right to vote (and voted for Nixon) Clinton would have not flown back to Arkansas or perhaps you meant to say that Clinton would have not been able to eat someone's dessert, or maybe, oh never mind I guess you meant to say that deficit spending is treason.

Don't change the subject, Bill, and start beating Putin: topic still is French-bashing (alternatively UN/Annan).
I want to comply, Walter, but I'm not sure I understand your objection. I gather we're agreed that it's fair to bash Chirac, since the A-hole refuses to put his buddy the terrorist (Hassan Nasrallah) on the terrorist list, right? And it sounds like you're okay with me tossing some mud Annan's way for climbing from scumbag bed to scumbag bed... but you seem to have taken an issue with popping Putin with an elbow during the windup? Why might that be? He obviously appears determined to arm Ayatollah Khamenei (you know, the terrorist in question's bestest of all his best buddies) with nukes (and I can't be the only one who can conceive of a religious fanatic like that sharing weapons with his bestest buddy). Am I the only one that thinks;
A. A nut like Khamenei shouldn't be allowed to obtain nukes under ANY circumstances if we can help it... in part because
B. He's the biggest cheerleader and some say financier of Chirac and Annan's buddy the terrorist (Hassan Nasrallah) who is widely celebrated for his ability to murder military and non-military Jews alike... who happens to head a group with a very rich history of terrorist activity. Color me strange, Walter, but to me; the collective bashing of these guys seems to tie together quite well in this instance. But then, I've never much cared for people who seek to buddy up to the terrorist enemies of the United States.

Didn't read the links, eh DTOM? Or is that generic nonsense just page filler to try and push past the truth? You generally shoot reasonably straight, so I'll assume you didn't read this link. It's a little long, but very informative (I suspect it will also prove more than sufficient to justify my distaste for seeing supposedly civilized leaders align themselves with this terrorist. I suspect you may even agree with me on this one, if you choose to read it.

Ps. May I suggest you read the actual definition of Argumentum ad hominem (click here). .
