I hear ya' Foxfyre, but never mind the competence of those exit polls. They just shouldn't be published before the polls have closed.

Roger, can you remember any year when they were off as much as they were this year though? It's hard not to smell a rat.

Yes, two rats here. That's apparently a smalltalk among the heated election debate. ;-)

The advance peoples was too tired,so also in Iowa and New Mexico no winner yet. Twelve electoral delegates there are possible in total.

There will likely be a split within the Republican party as the moderates and conservatives face off.

I had heard a commentator mention this some time ago. I certainly hope that this will come to pass. The moderates need to put a leash on Bush, and his ultra conservative compatriots!

Note: The ultra conservative McG and the strong Kerry supporter Frank A. are absent, at least with comments. That's curious.

Tico was nice enough to start a special threat for gloating here.

Meanwhile, Apisa and McG sitting in a tree.

Hiya Fox. Congratulations.

It appears that George Bush will mostly likely win with more votes than have ever been cast for the winning candidate and by a substantial majority of the popular vote.

True. But there's another side, as well. Lemme copy this from the bookie thread, I was planning to carry it over into this thread anyway:

True.

However, he won by a margin of 3%. That margin is smaller than the margins with which Clinton won in 96 and 92, the margin Bush won with in 88, and the margins Reagan won in either of his victories.

In short, Bush has now been elected to 8 years of presidency with the two smallest margins of victory since 1976.

Of the five narrowest margins of victory in Presidential elections since WW1, Bush has two (the others being Carter, Nixon '68 and Kennedy).

A nation split down the middle.
