CNN has called 199 votes toward the 270 Obama needs to win. California is going to Obama, so you can put that at 254, Oregon and Washington are also easy calls to go blue which would put Obama at 272.

McCain would basically have to win every remaining state he has a chance in, in addition to one of these three states in which he has no chance. Obama will be the next president.

Election called for Obama

@Setanta,
I am a man of calculated odds, not superstition. I would bet every last cent I have that Obama wins and I couldn't jinx that if I wanted to. This is a done deal, I'm calling it for Obama.

I have a feeling it might have to do with that MSNBC map that is being posted there.

Say it with me, people.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA.

I love it. A big victory for rational reasoned discourse, and a huge loss for corruption and willful ignorance.

@kickycan,
Now all that is left is for him to win the popular vote by more than 4 percent, and I win my bet too. Come on, California, vote, vote, vote!

@kickycan,
Obama up by almost 40,000 votes in both VA and NC.

McCain only leads by 4,000 votes in Indiana with 88% reporting.

MO is still early but close.

edit - 4,000 in NC not 40,000
