reporting

DC
2000: Gore +76%
Last polls: Kerry +65%
Current: Kerry +81%
100% of precincts reporting

Somebody smack me up side the head and tell me when DC got the vote.

Hello! Anyone still awake there?
Here's the latest we've gotten here in Oz:

President Bush is ahead in the popular vote 51 to 48 per cent.

Senator Kerry needs a win in Ohio to have a realistic shot at victory. With 67 per cent of the precincts reporting, Mr Bush led there by more than 100,000 votes.

The winner needs 270 electoral votes. The latest projections give Mr Bush 246 votes and Senator Kerry 207.

Any update on this?

The popular vote's not what matters at this point, you know... Every precinct votes toward the state total, then the state carries its votes either one way, or t'other...

Yeah - like here, Msolga. Labor got 49% of the popular vote in South Australia - and TWO out of ELEVEN Lower House seats. This with a popular vote that won Labor a third Senate seat from this state for - I believe - the first time in history. Odd, really.

It is all down to Ohio.

If Bush wins Ohio, It is all over (even if it goes to the House).

If Kerry wins Ohio, the nation is saved.

Gosh, it's still a race, but seems that Bush'll win, doesn't it?

Say, my best friend told me a piece of trivia: did you know that Bush and Kerry share an ancester 11 generations back?

Ok, gotta get the kiddies to bed, except for my 13 year old, who is angry I am hogging the computer... but I'll be back... ya'all keep me company, ok? I don't want to wait this out alone...

Fedral - paraphrasing here - he said that regardless of the outcome of the election, he was confident that our country would go foward in unity.

Something like that - I thought about it all day, having resolved to stay totally away from cable TV, talk radio, etc. I held out until about 6pm LOL (know some of the eastern polls would be closing). I had a calm day Smile
