I think of the girl who was abused by her father, who ran away or perhaps through some close friend got help, she goes to have an abortion, and they've first got to call her dad?

Those are the cases where a judge could override the law, and not tell the parents. But what of the girl, who is not abused at home who is scared to death that her folks would throw her out, or otherwise traumatize her? That sort of anxiety could elicit very dangerous behavior on the part of the girl.

Seems like the commentators are giving Bush the edge in Florida. I am still not sure I buy it. I think the turnout, and the Hispanic vote (including the Cuban vote) are going to give Kerry the state.

We will see. I will still be surprised if FL isn't blue by morning.

But the NPR analysts are pretty much giving FL to Bush and the current analysis is that Ohio is the key.

PA to Mr Kerry -per CNN-- by a much larger than expected margin. Looks good for other mid-western states.

Thanks for the link, JW, fascinating to see the comparisons with 2000 not just at state level, but below ... unnerving, but fascinating.

Actually Ebrown, Miami-Dade isn't as anti-Bush as Broward and Palm Beach counties, I don't think. Martinez may have something to do with it... and JEB's spanish is pretty slick as well.

It's now 50/50 for Thune and Daschle - still a ways to go, though - precinct wise.

There's no way Kerry can win at this point, if the projections are all accurate. Unless he takes just about every state int he west, which isn't gonna happen. Crying or Very sad

I'm a Bush supporter and I don't see where you are getting your numbers..

I'm still trying to figure out how GWB is going to pull this one out.

Princess, Kerry just won Pennsylvania, (CNN).

Now, the pressure is on Bush to win both Florida and Ohio-and maybe he doesn't even win then.

So far Iowa and Michigan are the only two going astray on me... and I'll take that trade any day. Neither have really decided yet either.
