I just want to reassure you, Gautam, that, when I had my wizzies removed a few years ago, I enjoyed the process a great deal. Not only has my mouth been a lot roomier (and infection free) since then, the nitrous oxide was a gas, the intravenous valium fabulous for the three seconds or so I remember experiencing it, and the impact very low -- I had a pork chop for dinner the same night, and was backpacking and watching lunar eclipses with my wee vicadin tabs within a week.

Of course, everybody else I know who's had them out has been in utter misery for days afterward, but I'm sure your experience will mirror mine...

pd, the consultant tells me that my procedure is not that simple in my case. Due to the nature of its growth, they will have to cut thru the jaw bone to take it out or something - and if the adjacent tooth has dislodged to a large degree, they will have to take it out as well.

Thank god it will be done under general anesthesia....
