Well - some of the yuckoness is being worked through - it is interpersonal yucko, of the extremest sort - which is very unusual for our team.....

But, it sort of needed a fairly powerful team member (me, as it happens, on this occasion) who had been able (by being away) not to become absolutely paralysed by it, to try and move some aspects of it forward a bit. I don't see too much hope of the real crap moving - but I hope I can help the crap have less effect - and I can do a lot to change the dynamic as it plays out day by day.

The awfulness isn't aimed at me, (though I could easily get stuck in the middle) - but man, it sure isn't easy to absorb as it gets talked about - and with the boss away sick (though she doesn't have to have chemo!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!) and she HAS been caught in the middle - as is the nature of bossness in such situations - (ie they BOTH think she is being unfair, of course - since she has institutional power and is expected to fix the unfixable, somehow - and I have only personal power - nobody expects me to actually FIX it) - anywho, so it goes. Babble, babble, babble........

I have never experienced an issue between people as bad as this before..... and two such wonderful people....life is odd.

The new job is a temporary one, Ms Wabbit. But it's interesting. Teaching the "non copers" of our school system. In very small numbers. (Phew!) It has been an education, believe me! I'm very impressed with the staff of this place. Boy, do they WORK!

I will check on the Impressionists time-line & let you know ... pronto.

Ms Margo in Marvellous Melbourne again? Hmmmmmmm ... Maybe once was enough? But you could give it a go, Deb.

Do me best!!!!!

Thing is, it has affected a whole training program, which has become a big deal, the basis of which I sort of discovered, but the two people involved made happen. That has to be sorted out and recovered - and no-one else can do that.

I think just having another powerful team member - not part of the polarity - back, and refusing to be paralysed by the tensions, has helped free up the other team members again, so things already feel better.

But - I am no Pollyanna - I don't see how the real stuff can be sorted out - whatever the smeg it is - I am just trying to limit damage to other folk and melt some ice which has had lots of folk entrapped in it.

You DO like Impressionists???????

The Impressionists? Yes!
I once took some students to a Monet exhibition in Melbourne (quite a while ago) & embarrassed them mightily by going totally ga ga at my first viewing of the real thing. Razz I never knew dots of colour could be so utterly gorgeous! Honestly, Deb, even his palette (one was displayed) was exquisite! I would have happily put it on my wall! Monet sings!
But, their are Impressionists & Impressionists!

It's just that some make you go more ga ga than others. A matter of taste & the zing factor, I guess. I'd like to see some of the large Manet's. I suspect that the reproductions don't do them justice.

Hmmm - I am travelling back from Queensland on 23/8.

Fella is suggesting making it the 22nd instead - and us both flying to Melbs then - staying overnight - seeing exhibition and such.....

I need to see if I can change flights....

Any chance of seeing Msolga around then?

harrumph.

Whole flight to Queensland and back is costing $381.

Cost of breaking flight and staying overnight in Melbourne - $279. (+accommodation)

No way.

I can get a return flight Adelaide/Melbourne cheaper than that!!!!!

Curses.

need to look at doing it a bit later, and independent of Queensland trip.

Grrrrrr.

If I had booked through Qantas direct it would have been more manageable.
