I'm listening along from work.

When Bush started about "leading media..." or whatnot and said "nevermind" was it acting?

With sound only it sounded stupid, but maybe it was a dismisssal through acting?

There was a smirk but it was stupid and extremely petty and unpresidential.

Looked as dumb as it sounded... I think he lost his train of thought.

"if you would have taken the president's tax cut for the top 1% - just the top 1% - it would have saved social security until the year 2075" - good

It was code. Thats why he stopped, too. He said enough to give his conservative base something to nod to, like, "oh yeah we know those liberal media!", but stopped in time not to actually have to come out and say that out loud and sound far right about it.

well i agree with bush on most of this immigration thing, the cards - wished some politician here would dare say stuff like that. "get them out the shadow", so they're able to travel up and down to their family while working here - no mainstream politician would dare defend giving out temporary work permits to immigrants.

Bush wins on the border issue, which is ridiculous since they're still turnstiles. Kerry dropped the ball.

Agree with Nimh... and that even sounded real. Shocked

ow kerry you get a minus point about using the ominous "we get people from the middle east coming in" and another minus for half-heartedly adding "allegedly".

good way he had, though - before already - of turning the question about borders/immigration into an answer on borders/security after 9/11.

but the "people from middle east" to follow that was a cheap shot.

"i'm tired of politicians talking about family values but not valuing families" whoa yeah!

good score on the equal pay ("women earn 70% of what men earn, thats not right in america") - thatll help him with the traditional Dem advanatge among women.

but ... "i will work to raise the minimum wage" - i agree - but will it play? i remember even on a2k a poll on the minum wage showed a majority who wanted to lower it. again, he might be eloquently defending an impopular POV.
