I'd call it barely a tie, with a slight edge to Kerry.

like the old saying says...close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.....bush may have been "scientifically and statistically close" but Kerry still won by the numbers......

Who won the debate? What debate? After watching this so-called debate I come to appreciate the intelligence of Clinton more and more. Kerry at least has something to say but Bush repeated the same tired phrases over and over again. I was expecting him to go nya,nya,nya at any moment. Bush it seems to me to have a 50+ year old body with a 4 year old mentality.
I have seen better and more intelligent debates between two 5 year olds in the playground than the display I witnessed last evening.

The absolute numbers are within the MOE. So one can not really conclude, on a statistical basis, who won.

Hey...not often I get the chance to say anything positive about George Bush...so please try to indulge me since I have that rare opportunity at the moment.

I want to go on record as saying that George Bush did not look like a total moron during several parts of that encounter last night.

What did you think when something was said that stuck a chord in his feeble mind and he jumped up to rebut interrupting the moderator? I suppose it is so seldom that he has a thought he could not wait for fear it would pass.

Bush was a bit slow on the uptake in the first debate, and appeared a little too eager in the second.

Perhaps he will strike a happy medium in the third?

Modern drugs can indeed "reprogram" the brain. I guess the debate rules don't prohibit it, so pergaps they will.

Perhaps Kerry's handlers can program him to repeatedly say "I have a plan" in response to just about any question. :wink:

The strategy is to keep the message simple so that the proles don't have to think. It's been very effective on the US masses.

Like Kerry's repetitive response to questions he does not want to answer..."I have a plan"

Yeah, I like the way Bush came out of last weeks debate stumping that HE HAS A PLAN. He took Kerry's plan, twisted it around and then claimed Kerry stole it from him. Then on Friday... Yes, yesterday (Oct. 8, 2004) 18 months after invading Iraq, BUSH DEVELOPS A PLAN!!!

"The Bush administration has developed a formal written strategy for Iraq that envisions using a mix of diplomacy and military force to try to wrest control of dozens of key cities from insurgents before planned January elections, a senior administration official said Friday.

The strategy ?- already largely outlined by Defense Secretary Donald H.
