"Wow" here is a euphemism for "I've never seen anything so ******* insane and dangerous in my whole ******* life"

But Mr. Trump, who has taken intelligence briefings only sporadically, is questioning not only analytic conclusions, but also their underlying facts.
“To have the president-elect of the United States simply reject the fact-based narrative that the intelligence community puts together because it conflicts with his a priori assumptions — wow,” said Michael V. Hayden, who was the director of the N.S.A. and later the C.I.A. under President George W. Bush.
Calm yourself. The NYT Article excerpt you pasted here is from an article that includes a full dose of the traditinal loftiness, presumed authority and pretentious sophistry we have since come to expect from this once excellent newspaper. Their supposed "journalistic integrity" is falling almost as fast as their financial situation.
The panties of the Democrat political elite are in a twist because the Russian hackers attacked "only the DNC and Hillary's ( allegedly secure) server" and not that of the RNC., as any properly behaving, politically correct, equal opportunity enemy should do. In addition Donald Trump has (gasp!) mocked them for their hypocrisy in trying to use this fact to deflect attention from the facts uncovered by the hacks themselves - confirming the Clinton pay-to-play corruption; the underhanded support for her from the DNC during the primary contest with Sanders; and the corrupt predebate exchanges of questions and information between the liberal media and the Clinton campaign. Their sensitivity and hyper-indignation are not only highly selective ( no talk of reform yet in the DNC), they are obviously a device for them to continue to deny the existence of the systematic and pervasive corruption that has now been confirmed.
This is not a serious national security matter: instead it is a moment of high comedy that fully reveals the demented self-absorption and delusion that grips our liberal establishment. Very hard to make this **** up.
We do indeed face a number of serious security matters ranging from the loss of confidence in America by traditional Allies; the unraveling of an already bad political and human rights situation in the Middle East; the rise of aggressive new enemies in Iran and other parts of the world; the collapse of our national systems for border and entry control, coupled with rising Islamic Terrorism (the existence of which the present Administration continues to deny), and many others.
The fact that an unfriendly nation took selective action to reveal the corruption of a departing Political administration here is certainly an affront but it is not itself a serious national concern. The exaggerated indignation, coming as it does from an Adminbistration that has so consistently ignored our real national security interests; and which has screwed up so many international issues ranging from the rise of ISIS; to the ghastly situation in Syria (remember Obama's "red line"?); to the ongoing underfunding and decay of the NATO military capability of our Allies; and steadfast refusal to enforce our laws as written on a wide range of matters including national security., is truly breathtaking.
