No source needed when the facts are commonly accepted by people with common sense and common experience...If you dispute it...Go for it.

@giujohn,
You don't want to expose you or your "sources" to ridicule. I understand.

@giujohn,
Quote:
With car insurance I have to pay more if I'm in the risk pool...Why not with health insurance?

A good — or a lucky — driver can avoid accidents and traffic violations for his entire driving career. But while people can make lots of decisions which work to preserve their physical health, bouts of sickness, eventual decrepitude, and death are inevitable. The costs of dealing with serious disease and end-of-life care are considerable so rather than bankrupting individuals and their families lots of countries opt to share the risks by subsidizing the costs, either through nationalized, tax-subsidized health care or something like the ACA. I don't believe that any health care system is perfect. But if the best physical health for the most people is the goal it's hard to make the case for a totally voluntary system since we know many people would rather spend their money on i-phones and flat screen TVs. Until they develop a chronic condition or are stricken with a serious disease.

Are you aware of the huge number of programs for the elderly in the USA? Do you have an understanding as to why they exist?

@hightor,
Theresa May is not exactly welcoming towards refugees, she had to be had pushed to let in children.

Quote:
Lord Dubs, the man behind a scheme to bring lone child refugees to the UK, has told Newsround he's "bitterly disappointed" at how much the government is doing to help.

Around 200 unaccompanied children have been helped by the Dubs Amendment, which will stop once 350 have arrived.

But Lord Dubs, who was a child refugee himself, had hoped to help several thousand come to the UK and find somewhere safe to live.

"We just can't turn our backs on them," he told Newsround's Jenny. "I hope the government is feeling ashamed of itself."

There is a big refugee crisis in Europe right now, with millions of people fleeing from their homes in the Middle East because of fighting in their home countries.

There has been a lot of debate between politicians about how the UK should help these people - particularly children.

The government told us: "We want to do everything we can to protect children who are fleeing conflict and danger."

It said it's helped more than 8,000 children in the past year, and 20,000 Syrians will be getting a new home in the UK by 2020.

That's the paranoid mindset he has, retreat into fantasy rather than accept to being wrong. You can't have a sensible conversation with someone like that.

@izzythepush,
Why isn't Lord Dubs pointing out who has caused these refugee problems, Izzy?

Everyone is complaining about the refugees yet paying their taxes to support their war criminals. Do you not see the huge disconnect from reality?

@camlok,
Between local, state and the federal govt, there are over 170 social service programs in the US, the question is why are there so many? I'm not against helping those in need, but it should be strictly done on a means testing level. We can get rid of some of those programs and shift the funds to other programs that do very much the same thing, even increase individual spending per claim.

See, this is the problem. This story slightly changes each time you tell it, you add to it each time. I accused you of 2 things.
1) deleting your post about your Vietnam protest claims
2)Having mod privileges and not disclosing that ability.

You pushed the BS claim of hacking when I never said such a thing. I also never claimed that you had anyone else do it, that is added BS to the old BS.

I really wish I had the time to look back 4 years or so and find those posts. You make the claims but you never ever back them up.

You can't have a sensible conversation with someone who blows things out of proportion and then continues to do so in attempt to not actually talk about the issue at hand. You like to isolate a single sentence out of 14 years of posts. It's a joke.

@camlok,
The Arab Spring was a joke and is the fault of many of these issues, not to mention Obama's move into Syria and ignoring the rise of ISIS. Obama was elected to make US involvement in the ME disappear or become almost nothing, instead he ended up bombing and "droning" more countries than Bush did. In fact I'm surprised by your silence in the Obama years JTT. Could it just be a coincidence that you have come back since someone from the GOP has been elected as President?

Yeah yeah yeah, US imperialism blah blah blah... I already know your answer. The very fact you can't accept that 9-11 was committed by Muslim terrorists proves we won't even come close to having a reasonable discussion, but we can try.

@blatham,
Perhaps you aren't a particularly good judge of their thinking. I suspect most are happier in their current political positions than, say Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer are in theirs..

I'm a Republican and I'm quite happy. Just finished a refreshing workout; after a busy morning reviewing a couple of troubled construction projects; a few more chores and I'll join two of my sons at a very pleasant club in the city for dinner. Lots of rain here the last two months, but this week we've enjoyed clear skies and warm sunshine.

Heh, now they're "funding" a tax cut, eh? A commie actually thinks that if he doesn't take all of your money he's "giving" you something. Like he's paying YOU, instead of vice versa.

Go figure.

Trading Health Care for the Poor for Tax Cuts for the Rich

So much for President Trump’s pledge of “insurance for everybody.”

The Congressional Budget Office said on Monday that next year 14 million fewer Americans will have insurance if the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, is repealed and replaced on the terms the president is seeking. That tally would rise to 21 million in 2020 and 24 million in 2026. By then, the total number of uninsured Americans would reach 52 million.

And for what? To give a gigantic tax cut to wealthy Americans...

You can repeat fake news every day until the sun goes down and that will never make it true. Why do you insist on re-posting lies after they have been pointed out to you?

It was bullshit the first time you posted this and it remains bullshit today. Give it a rest.
