And what blather doesn't state is that Levin's sources are all LIBERAL SLANTED purveyors of propaganda. So it's either more fake news and there's nothing there...Or Obama is the ******* sleeze ball we always thought he was.

Bork Obunga was the worst leader which any group of 10 or more apes, hominids, or humans has ever had since the day of Alley Oop. The timing for this was sort of bad; it would be one thing if most or all of the other world leaders were also clowns and losers, but many of the people who have been running other countries recently have been and are top talent.

In the case of Nixon, what we observe is that the Republicans are willing to take out their own trash once in a while, if circumstances warrant it. Democrats never do that, they just circle the wagons.

Just a quick analogy. What Trump is doing with the "tapping" charge is exactly what he did with the Obama birth certificate move. Throw out a bullshit story then suggest that it must be credible because "lots of people are reporting on it".

That Republicans supported and continue to support this guy is an undeniable piece of evidence that their party has become nearly completely degraded in the modern period.

@blatham,
What I think to be the most interesting is ... the damned press, the mainstream media was the source of the claims.

Quote:
uckabee Sanders told Raddatz that conservative media aren’t the only outlets that have reported on possible surveillance as part of the investigation into contacts between Trump associates and Russia during the campaign.

"The New York Times, BBC, have also talked about and reported on the potential of this having had happened. I think the bigger thing is, ‘Let's find out. Let’s have an investigation.’ If they’re going to investigate Russia ties, let’s include this as part of it,” she said.
Source, with video.
(There isn't any proof of any wiretapping at all in those reports - see my WP-factchecker link above)

Who wants a special prosecutor to investigate Trump/Russia?
Quote:
Among Republicans, a majority feel Congress can handle the investigation, but a sizable 43 percent support the call for a special prosecutor, as do majorities of Democrats (82 percent) and independents (67 percent). Overall, the poll finds that 65 percent would rather see a special prosecutor handle the investigation, while 32 percent think Congress is capable of handling it.

The prototype for Bork Obunga:

For that matter, Richard Pryor in the white house would of been a vastly better choice for a first black president. Nobody can have that much talent without the IQ to go along with it; Pryor would have to have represented at least a 50 point IQ advantage over Bork.

@blatham,
Why does Trump think his phones were tapped? An investigation.
Quote:
What’s the one clear, identifiable source behind those reports, the place the buck stops in terms of drawing national attention to the unfounded idea that the Obama administration illegally targeted Donald Trump’s phones during the 2016 campaign? Simple.

Donald Trump is the source of that claim.

@Walter Hinteler,
Quote:
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos called out deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ false claim that reporting in mainstream news outlets, such as The New York Times and BBC, substantiated President Donald Trump's false assertion that former President Barack Obama ordered that Trump Tower be wiretapped during the 2016 campaign. Sanders first made the suggestion on the March 5 edition of ABC's This Week, saying those outlets "have also talked about it and reported on the potential of this having had happened." On the March 6 edition ABC's Good Morning America, Sanders repeated her claim that "the wiretapping has been discussed in The New York Times, BBC, Fox News." Stephanopoulos slammed her claim, noting that "every single article you just mentioned does not back up the president's claim that President Obama had him wiretapped." Stephanopoulos added, "One of them, based on anonymous sources, says there might have been a court ordered FISA wiretap. That has been denied by the former director of national intelligence, James Clapper." Additionally, Stephanopoulos pointed out that there is "a world of difference between an illegal wiretap ordered by a president and court-ordered wiretap approved by a federal judge." As the Washington Post’s Fact Checker blog explained, "No article says that Obama requested the order or that it resulted in the tapping of Trump's phone lines." Similarly, PolitiFact wrote, “If the basis of Trump’s comment is media reports, he doesn’t have a case,” rating Sanders’ claim "false." From the March 6 edition of ABC’s Good Morning America:

And he's playing the media like a $2 fiddle...He is pushing the issue on purpose to have Congress end the Russian bullshit once and for all. Fighting fake news with fake news.

@giujohn,
Figured you would be proud to have a president of the US make false allegation against his predecessor to deflect from information concerning Trump campaign officials and Russia, or just Russian interference with US elections.

Obama might then have a case for libel.

@Walter Hinteler,
Thanks Walter, I hadn't seen that. I'll just quote one bit as absolutely typical for Trump:
Quote:
Could a lawyer look into this? Just how low had Obama stooped to tap Trump’s phones “during the very sacred election process” (that Trump consistently derided as rigged)?

True: It's called "defamation of character."
Unfortunately, Obama is too high class to lower himself to Trump's level.

Unless you can articulate exactly how the election was influenced by anyone including the Russians you are also the purveyor of fake news.

From Jennifer Rubin
Quote:
...Comey’s extraordinary request underscores the degree to which the chief executive really is not leading the executive branch (including the intelligence community) in a meaningful way. Trump’s compulsion to destroy any source of damaging facts has propelled him into a war with the responsible media, with critics, with the previous administration and with the intelligence community. They all represent a threat to his ego, to his desire to be the sole source of information that can excuse away his aberrant behavior and rhetoric. He demeans, slanders and denigrates his own intelligence community; no doubt infuriated with his prevaricating and attacks on their integrity, leakers (whether in the White House, the bureaucracy or the intelligence community) retaliate by exposing his falsehoods.

The episode also highlights how emotionally out of control Trump is. He lashes out with tweets, rails at aides and vilifies the media. This is not a rational person exercising good judgment...

Maybe it is and maybe it isn't... let's remember Obama's abuse of the IRS against political enemies Fast and Furious James Rosen and Senator Chavez to name just a few abuses of power by Obama. Oh and let's not forget his Director of National Intelligence Clapper lying to Congress about the NSA collecting information on people.
