Quote:
An FEC commissioner repeated her demand Tuesday that the White House provide proof for its claims that thousands of people were bused from Massachusetts into New Hampshire to vote illegally in the 2016 election. She also defied a letter from a Koch brothers-funded group that asked that she be investigated for her actions.

The commissioner made a similar demand for proof last week.

The statement cites a group funded by the Koch brothers, Cause of Action, which sent a letter Tuesday to the inspector general of the FEC, requesting an investigation into what it claimed was Weintraub overstepping her authority as a commissioner.
TPM

Note the involvement of a Koch group in this. It's completely typical. Much of what these Koch-related entities are working at is changing the institutions of government (like the FEC) through changing laws and placing personnel. The end goal is to make such institutions either amenable to extreme right wing ideas or to stymie processes and persons who want government to work for everyone, not just the billionaire class.

PS... if you want to keep track of what the Koch crowd is up to, set up a google alert for them. I've had mine going for five years plus. Much of what they do doesn't catch headlines even if that should happen. The downside is you get a LOT of alerts because these operations are very busy indeed.

It's now been more than three weeks since a white supremacist Muslim hater in Quebec murdered six Muslims at prayer.

Trump has still not mentioned it.

True, he should have done 7 news conferences about it.

@McGentrix,
Well, in between noting the Swedish Disaster Terrible and Conway's Bowling Green Massacre, he could have said a word or two about something that actually happened. That involved a white supremacist. Where Muslims were killed. During prayer.

Did you attend university? Where?

The leftist doctrine promotes equality.
What do you find in the promotion of equality so offensive?

Please provide proof that university education is leftist?

Oh you must be ******* joking. I'm not even gonna waste my time with that one.

The leftist doctrine promotes equality.

Total bullshit. If they did they wouldn't be wanting to impeach a duly elected president 1 month after his inauguration because they don't like him.

Trump, as we know, has been a guest on InfoWars.
Quote:
Trump booster Alex Jones: I’m not anti-Semitic, but Jews run an evil conspiracy

Radio host Alex Jones is a big Trump fan — and Trump, for his part, has returned the favor. In December, he went on Jones’s show, telling the host, “your reputation is amazing” and promising him that “I will not let you down.”

Given that Jones is one of America’s foremost conspiracy theorists, who has been accused of sowing racial and anti-Semitic fears before, that was almost certainly a mistake. Jones proved it on the latest edition of The Alex Jones Show, aired on Tuesday, when he blamed America’s ills on “the Jewish mafia.”

“They run Uber, they run the health care, they’re going to scam you, they’re going to hurt you,” he said, per Media Matters. Jones listed a series of prominent people with Jewish backgrounds he believed to be working with this mafia — Rahm Emanuel, Madeleine Albright, George Soros — and accused them of being part of a “global, corporate combine” in alliance with the Japanese, Communists, and other evil factions.

“I guess I better do some exposés on the Jewish mafia,” Jones said.

My god. A bit of sanity in an otherwise insane point in time.
Quote:
Appeals Court Rules that Second Amendment Doesn’t Protect Right to Assault Weapons

On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled that the Second Amendment doesn’t protect assault weapons—an extraordinary decision keenly attuned to the brutal havoc these firearms can wreak. Issued by the court sitting en banc, Tuesday’s decision reversed a previous ruling in which a panel of judges had struck down Maryland’s ban on assault weapons and detachable large capacity magazines. Today’s ruling is a remarkable victory for gun safety advocates and a serious setback for gun proponents who believe the Second Amendment exempts weapons of war from regulation.

How long has it been since Trump has been on Jones? Was it during the campaign, years ago?

@blatham,
Any and all arguments that include modern day firearms as "weapons of war" is an instant discredit. It shows that those who have "ruled" know nothing about guns or how they function.

@Baldimo,
Judges always hear expert testimony from both sides. You don't like that idea, do you?

Not liking a cosmetic feature on a firearm does not constitute being an expert. As I said, anyone who claims AR-15's and the like are "weapons of war" doesn't understand the first thing about an AR or any guns. I'm guessing this would include you? Have you ever been shooting? Do you even live in the US?

Think for yourself? Universities are the epitome of group think and the creation of clone troopers. Have you even set foot on a university campus in the last 40 years? How about the last 10 or 15 years? Do you really think anything coming out of the universities shows even the slightest bit of individual thought or originality? When I went to college back in the mid 90's, "black power" was the in thing. Do you recall the dashiki and the leather "Africa" medallion? They weren't new when I was in school and they won't be new in 5 years when they come back into "resistance style", it's the same recycled college BS... leftist are no longer progressive, they are just plain leftists.

@Baldimo,
I thought that I should have included the following from the get go, but then I figured, "Why not give Baldimo a chance to figure it out for himself?"

Lawyers for each side ensure that their experts are heard and judges make their decisions based on those opinions.

So your erroneous notion "It shows that those who have "ruled" know nothing about guns or how they function" has no merit.

You went to university!

It has merit all right. If you knew where that court is located it would make a little more sense to you. I'm figuring it out, but I'm going to guess that you are not in the US. Am I wrong?

Yes, I've been to college but I do not have a degree, life happens and plans change.

Shocked

Is that the sandwich or the meal? Big Mac sandwich is already $4.59 in upstate NY and they haven't raised min wage yet. The meal is $7.50ish after tax.

I stopped at Burger King last year. It had been years (decades?) since I'd had a whopper, and I figured why not.

I thought I'd get two bacon cheese whoppers. When I saw they were $7.50 apiece, I decided to just get one.

And that was sandwich only, not a meal.
