@oristarA,
Are you intentionally avoiding reality?

Herd immunity either exists, or it doesn't

The medical industry needs to make up their minds about that.

The slums of Mumbai are showing well over half the population now have natural herd immunity.

@coldjoint,
Yes, the retraction was correct.

Now use your common sense, millions of American will die in vain if following Trump's idea of the herd immunity - letting the virus run its natural course in America without a vaccine.

You must use a vaccine help American people create the proper herd immunity. Fauci is correct.

@oristarA,
Deliberate distortion. Quotes can be altered, but they don't do it themselves without outside interference.

Are the slums independent of India? How many Indians will die through natural herd immunity with its population more than three times of America's?

From the CDC's own research, the best results they've had from any of their influenza jabs, is 33% effectiveness. What makes you think any rushed attempt at a covid vaccine will yield better results?

Our home state of QLD has not had a new case in weeks. The govt. is letting people fly in from OS, which yielded a handful of new cases, now in quarantine.

You need to understand that after four years of trying to make people believe that their president is incompetent, the media are now focused on covid. Most of what you're hearing is BS.

America's population 2020: 331,558,077

Infection Fatality Rate = 1.4%

70% of the population are infected to create the natural herd immunity:

331,558,077 * 1.4% * 70% = 3.25 millions

About 3 millions of American people will die unnecessarily to reach the natural herd immunity.

OK. Use your common sense.

Please source that 1.4 % number.

Sure seems millions are going to take a while

@oristarA,
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

USA and India are at the top of the chart. Despite social distancing being impossible in many areas of India, their deaths per million is at 88, currently, while the US of A, with supposedly the best medical facilities available, is showing 709 deaths per million.

Anyone with more than a few firing synapses would understand that the death rate in America, is being either manipulated, or, as sources will show, many other deaths are being attributed to covid, when it was just a symptom, and not the cause.

I don't know, if or why US doctors get more money ($ 2,000 , Trump said) when giving a death certificate with the cause "Covit".

Here, in Germany, they get the same for every reason.
And if someone dies from Covit, the comorbidity.
However, comorbidities played a rather minor role according to the experts.

@Walter Hinteler,
Walter, any way you look at it - this is an ignorant, asinine statement from a stupid a**hole! If someone has Covid and is in the hospital, they have to have Covid protocol during treatment. That is what is more expensive and will be followed and charged every time.

BTW, thanks for your contribution on these threads!

I haven’t been on this site for a long time – several months now – mostly because I had become very weary of the angry & condescending prose, coming mostly from dedicated consumers of progressive BS, and the vitriol of Trump-hating posters here. – both endlessly repeated.

But it's fine to be a dedicated consumer of Trumpian BS. Okay.

However, it all began here and is largely sustained by the never-Trumpers who appear to constitute a majority here (if not among the voting public).

Whoa...apparently this sensitive individual who prides himself on his political acumen doesn't even know that "never-Trumpers" is a specific term for Republicans who opposed Trump in '16 and have continued to oppose him. I can assure him, they are not a majority here.

Basically I don't believe that georgeob1 is as well-informed as he thinks he is. The rest of his post bears out that contention.

Medical professionals and organizations quickly decried those comments and lauded the work of nurses, doctors and other health care workers, many of whom have risked their lives and worried about the health of their families as they cared for people who were infected with the coronavirus.

“The suggestion that doctors — in the midst of a public health crisis — are overcounting Covid-19 patients or lying to line their pockets is a malicious, outrageous and completely misguided charge,” said Susan R. Bailey, the president of the American Medical Association, in a statement on Friday.

“Rather than attacking us and lobbing baseless charges at physicians, our leaders should be following the science and urging adherence to the public health steps we know work — wearing a mask, washing hands and practicing physical distancing,” she added.

Many counties that hosted Trump rallies had a significant
increase in Covid-19 cases

A CNN investigation of 17 Trump campaign rallies finds that 14 of the host counties --
82% of them -- had an increased rate of new Covid-19 cases one month after the rally.

Of the 14 host counties that had increased infection rates, eight of the counties had
declining rates of infection in the month before the rally. The other six counties already
had increasing rates of infection in that preceding month...

@Region Philbis,
Trump is the Typhoid Mary of covid, the Pied Piper of Plague — I suspect that students in the field of public health will be studying his role in promoting this pandemic for years. His dereliction of duty is criminal.

@snood,
Yes or no question:

Do you have any problem with the sitting vice president of the United States being in the pocket of the Chinese government?

Can you answer a simple yes or no question?

Yeah. Remarkably consistent. I am utterly flabbergasted how this is still even possible for anyone to remain so insulated. But rejection of any and all information sources which question, criticize or contradict Trump and/or modern conservatism's dogma is the mechanism, obviously.

I've been in conversation with a lot of Trump-supporting Evangelicals over the last months. This crowd is awash in the worst sorts of sources. Fox, Facebook and youtube is where most of them live. Where the "mainstream media" is held to be unworthy of attention, the demon sperm lady is held to be credible and even a source of revelation. They live in a completely sealed off universe. One of them said to me about a month ago that Trump had once been a questionable character "but that was before he came to Jesus".

That's not george's crowd, of course. He's more in the William Barr punch-a-hippy, authoritarianism is needed to stave off destructive citizen democracy, manly men are natural leaders camp. Forever and a day george has tossed out "freedom" and "liberty" with all the self-reflection of a Scientologist or a pamphleteer for the John Birch Society.

What seems to tie these two camps together is an abiding fear of change and a truly puzzling certainty they are being victimized. And these are the two main buttons that Trump and right wing media entities continually push.

PS... I ought to add that I have found no Evangelical willing to discuss Jerry Falwell Jr's 8 year history of watching his wife get boned by the pool boy.

It's not a "simple yes or no question", it's a loaded question. Considering the source, it's not worth answering at all.
