That really does nothing to establish its veracity.

Unless it's about your president, right?

Biden, who should be actively campaigning at this point, like his rival, has chosen to go into hiding, purportedly to "focus on the next debate".

I wonder if he gets a teleprompter, like he uses at his lame-ass rallies.

Can't string a few sentences together, without one.

His old boss was much the same.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Debate commission adopts new rules to mute microphones to allow Trump, Biden 2 minutes of uninterrupted time per segment.

So, think Trump will bail?

Are they going to mute the moderator's mic too during those 2 minutes?

My first thought is that Mr. Trump should practice talking over a muted microphone to see if it can be done effectively.

Assuming that he is able to do it effectively I'd say go ahead with the debate.

It will happen. Interesting that they've again chosen a partisan leftist "adjudicator" though.

@RABEL222,
I listen occasionally to his interactions with the media, and I don't think he's using one at all. No speech writers either.

The moderator’s mic? What are you talking about? The idea is to let the person who was asked the question be the only one speaking for two minutes. After the moderator asks the question, why would their mic be muted?

Or, he could just stfu until it’s his turn to talk. It’s not a difficult concept.

To prevent Mr. Trump from being interrupted when the moderator hears an answer that he does not like.

You forget what happened with Guthrie? And if they have those two minutes what difference would it make?

I didn't call you a name, I thought the comment made perfect sense "because you said it" and you have an IQ of 1,800. You must have been very successful in what ever your career could have been.

I like your new sig line.....you couldn't have thought of anything more clever.

@coldjoint,
Guthrie hosted a "look at me party" for Trump. She's not running for office, so it doesn't count as a debate. And it's not like Trump is somebody's crazy Uncle Donald after all.

Laura Helmuth (Editor in Chief of Scientific American) tweeted 10h ago:
Trump just tried to insult Joe Biden by saying "he'll listen to the scientists," to which we say EXACTLY .

Quote:

Scientific American Endorses Joe Biden
We’ve never backed a presidential candidate in our 175-year history—until now

By THE EDITORS on October 1, 2020

Scientific American has never endorsed a presidential candidate in its 175-year history. This year we are compelled to do so. We do not do this lightly.

The evidence and the science show that Donald Trump has badly damaged the U.S. and its people—because he rejects evidence and science. The most devastating example is his dishonest and inept response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which cost more than 190,000 Americans their lives by the middle of September. He has also attacked environmental protections, medical care, and the researchers and public science agencies that help this country prepare for its greatest challenges. That is why we urge you to vote for Joe Biden, who is offering fact-based plans to protect our health, our economy and the environment. These and other proposals he has put forth can set the country back on course for a safer, more prosperous and more equitable future.

The pandemic would strain any nation and system, but Trump's rejection of evidence and public health measures have been catastrophic in the U.S. He was warned many times in January and February about the onrushing disease, yet he did not develop a national strategy to provide protective equipment, coronavirus testing or clear health guidelines. Testing people for the virus, and tracing those they may have infected, is how countries in Europe and Asia have gained control over their outbreaks, saved lives, and successfully reopened businesses and schools. But in the U.S., Trump claimed, falsely, that “anybody that wants a test can get a test.” That was untrue in March and remained untrue through the summer. Trump opposed $25 billion for increased testing and tracing that was in a pandemic relief bill as late as July. These lapses accelerated the spread of disease through the country—particularly in highly vulnerable communities that include people of color, where deaths climbed disproportionately to those in the rest of the population.
