When I stand back and look at what is happening, it’s staggering.

Our adversaries don’t have to attack us with conventional weaponry, or try to usurp us with an onslaught of cyber-mischief, or even infect us with some super-deadly biological weapon.

Our “leaders” spared them all that trouble by willingly walking right into the jaws of the worst pandemic in a century. They gathered closely in groups, and spoke closely into each other’s faces, and hugged and shook hands in the midst of the raging virus. And they encouraged others to do the same thing - to the point that being cautious is (or was) being ridiculed openly.
The abysmal, galactic stupidity and hubris.

It’s really astonishing when you think about it.

No they don't. The threat to America is coming from the inside, our manipulating media and political activists in our bureaucracy and corrupt progressives and Democrats are doing their best to destroy this country.

One look at their policies should tell you that.

@BillRM,
True, there are only so many people involved in a conspiracy that can keep there mouths shut. Still, these people are all dependent on government payroll, and Trump is known to be one vengeful sob.

Sturgis's thought could well be right.

@roger,
The last few years have shown the nature of several persons. Many of whom, even though on a different side politically, were still somewhat dcent. Now they all bow, scrape and pray to their golden idol.

@Sturgis,
"... bow and scrape ..." Sure seems that way to me, also.

The idol is America, not Trump. Trump wants to keep an America that fulfills its promise to future generations, Democrats don't.

Lord we are talking about highly train med techs of one kind or the other so I question how hard it would be to replaced a government paycheck if need be.

To say nothing of leaking to the press in such a way as it would be very hard to find the leakers .

@BillRM,
I put absolutely nothing past Donald tRump. Howsever, I have to agree with BillRM!

This is simply an action theRump could just as easily stayed in the White House if he was pulling a farce. As he got sicker, the hospital was a requirement. The doctors face many problems if they become actors in this farce.

BTW, before he went to the hospital, I was thinking it maybe an attempt to get more votes because he would have said he beat the tRumpVirus his way!

Then again, with such mixed messages and lies out of the Whitehouse; (don't forget the WH doctor is the one doing all the talking), who knows. Also, Mark Meadows says the pResident is not on a clear path to recovery and the next 48 hours are critical.

@coldjoint,
Trump has never had a majority of american voters. Never. He doesn't have a majority now. Nol matter his bluff, bluster, hate, and lies, he's never managed to win the country over. What ,makes you think he's going to now, when his whole pandemic liefest has landed him in Walter Reade.

MJ, they mean to keep them and a majority of the citizens want them! However, a rather small group of Repubs under the thumb of the minority, very rich thwart their very good intentions.

I'm wondering what the exact process is/would be if for some reason Trump dies/kicks off on November 3 at 1 second past midnight. Where do those votes go?

If it automatically then becomes Pence, who becomes Vice President?

@Sturgis,
Twenty Fifth Amendment, Section 2:

"Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress."

@oralloy,
That I knew.
However, I'm curious to how the election results would be properly and fairly tabulated, given that Pence is not the actual candidate.

@Sturgis,
Mr. Pence is the actual candidate for VP.

@Sturgis,
Me, too. Trump was nominated. He selected Pence as a running mate. I think I'll put that one in the-wait-and see column.

The worry is that Pence is not only smarter than Trump; he seems to believe every thing he says - which so far, isn't much.

Mr. Pence is the duly elected VP. He will step in and become president if Mr. Trump is unable to fulfill his duties.
