Oh. I'm not an expert on this issue. I have been considering reading one of his books. I mean Said.

@goldberg,
I think I remember you now. You probably don't remember, but I think on a thread concerning this issue some years back, you said in a post to me, (it stuck with me cause I thought, it's true.) something like (have to put in my own words cause I don't remember exactly all the words you used, habit with me to only remember the gist of things)anyway, you said, "how would you know, sitting on a computer in your house" you said something else, but that is what I remembered. Unless, you aren't the same poster.

True, I wouldn't know a lot about it. I studied from a few sources on the internet, tried to get some balanced unbiased views at some point, also, a long time ago before 9/11 I actually knew a few Muslim posters and interacted with them and learned from them a tiny lit bit about their religion. (on another forum where their religious section was much more interesting concerning Christianity and Islam. However, that was extent of what I knew, so I backed off. If I had the good fortune to have had the talent to retain more information that I read...alas. Plus it's such a complex subject so full biased conflicting history it is hard to tell the truth when you read it.

All I know that I think can relied upon is that at the time of United Nations creating Israel after the 2 world war, there were all sorts of people of all religion living in the area, better conditions should have been made for the Arabs/Muslims in the area than it turned out to be now to this day. No wonder they fight.

@goldberg,
There’s a thread on Israel started by the owner of this site. All of this has been gone through there and then some.

By all means contribute there but there’s enough going on right now with covid 19 and BLM to bring Israel into the equation. This thread is busy enough.

No offense at all. I just posted a comment about linguistics - I actually appreciated the reply of yours, just wondering what is the type of bon vivant in your idea that you appreciate; so I made a guess. I think I've failed to properly deliver the nuance. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I can’t post links but a bit of good news, human rights activist Nabeel Rajab has been released from prison in Bahrain. He’s still under house arrest, not yet a free man, but it’s a step in the right direction.

That's a go to "source" for cj!!

Any source can report facts and express opinions. Any source can lie like CNN, the NYT, the WP. Those three I mentioned, lie constantly and get caught constantly.

Now find a lie ( not opinion) by Conservative Treehouse and post proof it is a lie. You can't, and I know you won't even try.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Bahrain freed a prominent human rights activist Tuesday amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, allowing him to serve out the remainder of his internationally criticized prison sentence from home.

Rajab will serve out the reminder of his prison term at home, his family said.

Bahrain has been releasing inmates amid the pandemic, but largely had avoided freeing political prisoners. In September, a court denied Rajab's request to serve out the rest of his sentence at home.

Bahrain's government did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press.

Rajab was a major figure in Bahrain’s 2011 protests that saw tens of thousands from the country’s majority Shiite population and others demand greater rights from the Sunni-led monarchy. He is also the co-founder and president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights and a founding director of the Gulf Center for Human Rights.

Troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates helped Bahrain violently suppress the protests.

Rajab received a five-year prison sentence over tweets alleging torture at one of the country’s prisons and criticism of the Saudi-led war in Yemen. He separately received a two-year prison sentence over television interviews he gave that included criticism of Bahrain, a small island nation off Saudi Arabia that’s home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet.

It was unclear how much time Rajab has left to serve.

Bahrain’s constitution guarantees its citizens freedom of speech. However, Rajab was prosecuted under laws making it illegal to offend a foreign country, spread rumors at wartime or “insult” a government agency. That drew international criticism from activists, as well as the United Nations' Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.

“Mr. Rajab’s political views and convictions are clearly at the center of the present case and that the authorities have displayed an attitude towards him that can only be characterized as discriminatory,” the panel said in 2018. “He has been the target of persecution, including deprivation of liberty, for many years and there is no other explanation for this except that he is exercising his right to express such views and convictions.”

In the years since the 2011 protests, Bahrain has dismantled opposition groups, imprisoned activists and revoked the citizenship of over 700 people. Amid the crackdown, local Shiite militant groups have carried out small attacks on security forces.

The U.S. under President Barack Obama had held up approving a multibillion-dollar sale of F-16 fighter jets over human rights concerns in Bahrain. The Trump administration later approved the sale without those concerns being addressed.

The State Department did not respond to a request for comment. However, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, who visited Rajab's family while on a visit to Bahrain in November, applauded his release.

“This is good news and a sign of what can happen when the United States makes trouble over political prisoners,” Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, wrote on Twitter.

Rajab was sentenced in August 2012 to three years in prison for allegedly fomenting clashes between police and protesters, a case similarly criticized by the U.N. panel. At the time, he was already serving a three-month sentence for posting anti-government comments on Twitter. He was released in May 2014 after serving two years, but was detained again over his comments on Twitter.

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa pardoned Rajab in July 2015 over concerns about his health after the activist served some three months in prison.

Bahrain, home to 1.5 million people, has reported over 15,000 cases of the coronavirus and the COVID-19 illness it causes, with 10,000 recoveries and 29 deaths. Activists urged the kingdom to release other political prisoners who suffer from pre-existing illnesses.

“Bahrain’s prisons remain crowded with peaceful human rights defenders and opposition leaders, whose lives are threatened by the government’s inadequate response to COVID-19," said Husain Abdulla, the executive director of the group Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain.

Regarding going through tree house for nuggets of truth: that's too much like picking through horse puckey for oats.

There's one moron here who claims it can be done, but he keeps coming up with horse puckey.

NYPD cop who shoved protester hit with criminal charges

Source: Politico

NEW YORK — An NYPD officer seen on video shoving a young woman to the ground during a Brooklyn police brutality protest has been hit with criminal charges, the Brooklyn district attorney announced Tuesday.

The officer, Vincent D’Andraia, is charged with criminal mischief, harassment and menacing, said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. Video shows the officer forcefully shove the young woman during a May 29 protest over the killing of George Floyd. She struck the pavement and went to the emergency room.

“I fully support the long-held American tradition of non-violent protest. As District Attorney I cannot tolerate the use of excessive force against anyone exercising this Constitutionally guaranteed right. This is especially true of those who are sworn to protect us and uphold the law,” Gonzalez said. ‘I am deeply troubled by this unnecessary assault. We will now seek to hold this defendant accountable.”

The cop is one of two officers who have been suspended without pay from the NYPD for their actions at protests. The other suspended officer was seen pulling down a protester’s mask to pepper spray him.

Bahrain enforces Sharia law. A system with justice only for the Muslim male. It degrades women. It considers non-Muslims animals not humans. It allows rape and honor killings.

The Covid scare will not be needed to keep New Yorkers inside anymore. Without police no one will venture out because the streets will be run by violent thugs. And there will be instant punishment for those who dare not to do everything they say.

The city will turn int a prison yard with the same kind of hierarchy.

72 % is a majority, a big majority. Where is the media?
Quote:
A Monmouth University poll however shows that 72% of African-Americans are satisfied with their local police departments. Despite what you're seeing on television, 21% of African-Americans are very satisfied with the local police and another 51% are satisfied.

Only 5% are very dissatisfied.

That should be on the news not cover for arsonist Communists and looters.

Why the Hell has broadcast media have a race baiting thug like Sharpton on?
Why don't they hold him responsible for his miserable and violent past? This is a collective guilt extravaganza.

All the talk in the world will not change what man does to another. It has little do with color and everything to do with the person or people that did it. More people want to come to this country than any country in the world. Is that because we are a racist evil country? What is a matter with people being led by the nose by propagandists.
