@oralloy,
because we are more American than they are, there are more of us, and we didn't vote for him and our numbers are greater this year. If they don't pay attention, they'll be unemployables at 60, simply old expendable white men the economy has no use for. in their shithole red state home towns with no skills except graft and shaking down lobbyists for bribes.

Well, English Time: True gourmet vs. Fake bon vivant

True gourmet: Foie gras, caviar, Maximum
Fake bon vivant: Big Mac, diet Coke

Have I got you correctly, bobsal?

I stand by my simple statement: Big Mac gobbling and diet Coke swilling isn't my image of a bon vivant.

I am sorry I've managed to offend you.

What's the problem with supporting the Palestinians? They are being oppressed, and it is only human to feel sympathy for them.

Randomly firing rockets with high explosive warheads into population centers after being stop from shooting up weddings an so on made it damn hard to feel sympathy for them.

@BillRM,
They’re a lot darker than the Israelis.

That’s the real reason.

The Palestinians were there long before a bunch of white settlers turned up and took over.

Significantly more Palestinians have been killed in the conflict and Palestinians are persecuted and humiliated every day by the occupation.

Israel is America’s outpost and its way of projecting imperial power in a region that it has no place being.

Donald Trump Jr.'s Mongolia Hunting Trip Cost Taxpayers $77,000Source: Huffington Post

Donald Trump Jr.’s trip last summer to Mongolia to kill an endangered sheep cost American taxpayers nearly $77,000 in Secret Service costs alone, watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington reported Monday.

The Secret Service provided documents in March revealing that the agency’s cost for Trump’s trip to bag a rare argali sheep was more than $17,000. But after additional Freedom of Information Act requests, officials turned over other documents that disclosed an additional $60,000 in spending.

Trump Jr.’s eight-day trip was highly controversial, not only for the killing of the sheep, but because of his secretive meeting with Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga. Trump appeared to have hunted with a major Republican donor, ProPublica reported.

...The Trump family is taking 12 times as many Secret-Service protected trips as the Obama family did ― an average of about 1,000 more trips per year ― according to Treasury Department documents. The president and senior White House advisers Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner all remain invested in their private companies but travel at taxpayer expense.

Palestine is one of the last surviving (and longest running) colonization attempt on the planet. Deport people, steal their land, and then shoot them when they revolt...

Trump, Citing ‘Conservative Treehouse,’ Says Man Shoved to Ground Set Up Buffalo Cops

Quote:
One of the most memorably horrific scenes of police abuse that played out across the country last week took place in Buffalo, where an officer shoved a 75-year-old man to the ground and then the rest of his colleagues marched past as the victim lay bleeding on the pavement.

Or so you think. Real-estate heir, reality television host, cable news junkie, swindler, and titular president of the United States, Donald Trump, proposed via Twitter that the episode is not what it seems:

- Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. @OANN I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 9, 2020

Trump’s theory is that the victim, elderly progressive activist Martin Gugino, set up the officers by deliberately taking a fall like he was a power forward for Duke. But the plot goes even deeper. Trump referred to a report from One American News, the station of choice for viewers who consider Fox News too sane. OAN based its report on a story broken by Conservative Treehouse.

The Conservative Treehouse theory of the case is that Gugino is secretly working either with, or somehow inspired by, antifa, despite no evidence linking him to the street-fighting cult composed largely of confused young men young enough to be his grandchildren. Conservative Treehouse breaks down video of Gungino’s fall, Jim Garrison–style, and tries to claim he was reaching for the belt of the officer who shoved him. It alleges the old guy was attempting to covertly carry out “a method of police tracking used by antifa to monitor the location of police. In some cases, the more high-tech capture software can even decipher communication encryption, allowing the professional agitators to block (black out), jam, or interfere with police communication.”

So obviously, the officer, attuned to the probability that the old man in front of him was executing a sophisticated espionage technique, had no choice but to shove him. At this point, Gungino exaggerated the fall and then started bleeding for some probably unrelated reason. And then the police had to walk past him, because if they stooped down to check on his health, he might have reached up and stolen their communications.

Traditional presidents have had to rely on the clunky federal intelligence bureaucracy to update them of such dangerous plots. But since that bureaucracy is also part of an unrelated anti-Trump conspiracy, he has had to rig up his own intelligence-gathering system. Which, in this case, is a straight line from Conservative Treehouse to OAN to his own brain.

@bobsal u1553115,
Oh. Then just call him a high roller or gunslinger. Fortune magazine once sent a reporter to interview Trump years ago. The reporter said that Trump was living large, taking pride in being a swashbuckler. Who would have thought Trump could win the presidential election one day ?
Duh!

@izzythepush,
The Palestinians were not the original settlers. Well, I'd prefer not to talk about this since it's still a conflict-ridden issue. You know even Said, the author of Orientalism, agreed that Jews were in a sorry state, even though he reportedly cast his lot with Palestine as an Arab-he's not Muslim.

You are entitled to your opinion, olivier. Yet I have to admit that I side with Israel. By the by, I hope the two sides can solve this issue peacefully. Good luck to them.
