You're living in La-la Land. With no vaccine, social distancing and "lockdown" are intended to slow the inevitable spread of the virus, so as not to overwhelm hospitals. With sufficient medical resources, those who do contract the virus have a shot at surviving. Without such measures, they're doomed. In addition, when the health care system is overwhelmed, thousands of people who do not have the virus, but who are suffering from severe morbidity or trauma are likely doomed, too.

Really, buddy, I think you have completely failed to see this situation realistically.

Who isn't realistic? The mortality rate is very low except for vulnerable groups. Fearmongering is fearmongering.

From the stats alone, one could surmise that living in a third-world slum, with next to no decent hospital facilities, dramatically increases your chance of survival.

Perhaps we've gone down the wrong path, with our "cleanliness is next to godliness" mantra.

Early in the "lockdown" I was struck very suddenly with flu-like symptoms, which developed even faster into a savage stomach bug.

Five days in isolation, fluids only. Two days in recovery after that, on fruit smoothies. I reckon I've already had the virus.

the mortality rate hs been unerstood from day 1..Its below 1% for the entire population but is about 20% for infected elders and folks with existing lung and heart problems (also smokers, heavy drinkers, and overweights). Now we have a late appearing syndrome which may be a blooming cytokine attack that is unique to babies, kids, an young adults.

WHY does this president just dismiss the efforts of his much smarter experts and specialists?? HE actually thinks hes smarter than everyone else and daily shows us how stupid and unhingd he really is.

Footnote I had read from many sources lately that Vit D may be helpful in reducing the symptoms of the virus if you are unlucky enough to catch it.

It seems harmless to increase the dosage of this vitamin just for luck unlike Trump suggestions such as drinking bleach.
