This guy and his team are setting records all over the place. I think it must be that they are incredibly smart. And, of course, Trump is a "successful businessman" which is really all that's needed to head up a nation competently (hell, that's just common sense).
Quote:
Americans Now Evenly Divided on Impeaching Trump

PPP's new national poll finds that Donald Trump's popularity as President has declined precipitously just over the last two weeks. On our first poll of his Presidency voters were evenly divided on Trump, with 44% approving of him and 44% also disapproving. Now his approval rating is 43%, while his disapproval has gone all the way up to 53%. If voters could choose they'd rather have both Barack Obama (52/44) or Hillary Clinton (49/45) instead of Trump.

Just three weeks into his administration, voters are already evenly divided on the issue of impeaching Trump with 46% in favor and 46% opposed. Support for impeaching Trump has crept up from 35% 2 weeks ago, to 40% last week, to its 46% standing this week. While Clinton voters initially only supported Trump's impeachment 65/14, after seeing him in office over the last few weeks that's gone up already to 83/6.

Fake polls! Fake news! Everybody loves him. You should see his crowds. Huge. Biggest crowds maybe in the history of the world.

@revelette1,
And yet we gave preference to Russian Jew Refusniks.

You were against that?

@Finn dAbuzz,
You have my apologies. I know there are decent people who reluctantly voted for Trump. Including a close friend who is one of the kindest persons I ever known.

I'm on my way out of here, anyway. I shouldn't be participating in a topic such as this. I simply don't fit, which means that my participation is an exercise of futility on my part. My anger problem is only part of it.

@revelette1,
The Constitution does not apply to those who are outside of the US, it only applies to people on US soil.

@wmwcjr,
Apology accepted, but you just need to think a bit more before you respond.

The hypocrisy of it all is astounding. That's all I can say.

@ehBeth,
I think quite encouraging is generous - I'd change that to saying I'm somewhat/slightly more encouraged than a week or two ago (total devastation in my view).

Apparently, Turkey's Erdogan is going after intellectuals. Nearly 5000 university professors purged.

This is an entirely predictable target for authoritarians/totalitarians. Whether it happens in South/Central America or in the Middle East or in Asia or in Europe or in North America, know it for what it is.

@blatham,
Frum?

He's smart and writes fairly well but he is devoid of principles. A pretty vile character.

Many people have shifted from one side of the political spectrum to the other. Some like David Horowitz because they have seen the light and others like Frum and Adrianna Huffington because they saw the side of the bread that was buttered.

Yesterday I heard the vermin of a man on NPR declaring the most outrageous things about Trump that he could not possibly know to be true.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if you linked us to a quote by David Duke criticizing Trump with an accompanying comment of "Important stuff here!"

We are all imperfect creatures. We all have biases. We all get things wrong as well as getting things right. It's a tough game to try and maintain integrity and honesty. And to push down the anger that can arise.

But in any case, I just wanted you to know I've found your participation worthy and valuable.

My God! We agree!

And yet you are trying very hard to equate Erdogan and Trump.

This makes total sense
Quote:
French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said French Jews should give up the wearing of yarmulkes as part of the country’s struggle to defeat radical Islam.
In an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 that aired Friday, Le Pen expressed support for banning the wearing of yarmulkes as part of her broader effort to outlaw religious symbols in public, Britain’s Jewish Chronicle reported Sunday.

@Finn dAbuzz,
You misunderstand me. I was referring to the Baylor scandal. I was not referring to any of the members participating in this topic. Please check the link to the specific post of Blatham's that I was responding to. I repeat, I was NOT accusing any member participating in this forum of being hypocritical. My comment was restricted solely to the hypocrisy on the part of those who attempted to cover up the scandal at Baylor University. I was referring to people in real life, not online personalities. I was not referring to any member who has posted in this forum.

That's the problem with Internet forums. There's always the potential for misunderstanding.

It doesn't what I think the differences might be - I'm just referring how I've learnt and what has been at my university courses:
- "editorials" are by the editor/s (or publisher) appear now and then about topics regarding the "policy" of that paper (it is our opinion)
-"opinions", published daily as a column are by member(s of the staff, anyone else .... personal opinions of the writer (it is my opinion)

So, there ya go, then, eh, Walt? This guy was the "editor-in-chief" for that rag. But it aint just about "policy." It's just an editor's personal viewpoint. It's an "editorial" because it is the opinion of an editor--not a reader or a columnist. But they all go on the same "opinion" page of the paper.

Got any more nits ya wanna pick at?
