He wants his moment at West Point. What are the optics of a five-time draft dodger giving a commencement speech to a crowd of cadets forced back to campus because Trump needs a photo op for his re-election in the midst of an out-of-control pandemic? It’s a desperate look.

Graduating cadets will be made to return to campus they evacuated because of CV19, to attend Trump commencement speech.

@snood,
I waiting for when he turns out in his "I am the very model of a modern major general" outfit, like Mussolini did.

So now let's ask ourselves, a month and a half later, why the mainstream media didn't feature this blockbuster of a story?

"Because you libruls wanna die of Covis19."

Just paraphrasing his answer.

Maybe it's a test to see if they are independent-minded enough to disobey orders that would put them and their fellow cadets at risk.

It’s like the Derek and Clive sketch, “He’s got body temperature, I’ll give him that.”

@izzythepush,
Yep, their questions merit an answer but not the effort to make an answer.

Maybe the ones that use independent judgment to protect themselves and their fellow cadets will ultimately be promoted to positions with more leadership responsibility.

If they decide to stay home, they might avoid infection and/or transmitting the virus to others, so how is that getting 'f*cked,' as you put it?

@livinglava,
You give Trump waaaaaay too much credit for depth. He's just trying to boost his flagging crowds, he's re-instituting the draft - just for the cadets.

@livinglava,
If your independent enough you can easily craft a doctors excuse that you stand to risk your health and therefore the US's investment in you as a cadet.

What is the doctor going to know about virus transmission that the cadet doesn't already know?

If you go to a doctor and they tell you not to worry about the virus, do you trust them or do you question their authority based on what you've heard/read about the virus in the media?

Its bad enough you don't pay any attention to me but to ignore yourself, what kind of self loathing produces that? Or is it a process of your self introspection to ignore stupid comments, especially your own.

Obviously I take what you say more seriously than do you. Mea culpa.

New Evidence ‘Proves’ Flynn Was ‘Framed,’ His Lawyer Says, Wants Documents Unsealed

‘In Their Own Handwriting’

The new evidence “defeats any argument that the [FBI] interview of Mr. Flynn on January 24, 2017 was material to any ‘investigation,’” Powell wrote. “The government has deliberately suppressed this evidence from the inception of this prosecution—knowing there was no crime by Mr. Flynn.”

The documents “show in their own handwriting and emails” that “partisan” FBI and Justice Department (DOJ) leaders “intended either to create an offense they could prosecute or at least get [Flynn] fired,” Powell said.

@livinglava,
So what I would like to know is, do the cadets have to foot the travel bill themselves to get back to West Point for a day simply to provide a photo op for the prez. Do they have to pay for their medical bills themselves when some of them inevitably get CV from the trip to provide a photo op for the prez, Why is he trying to weaken America by endangering the health and lives of our future military leaders? Vnity and greed,, pure and simple.
