@georgeob1,
The left's support for authoritarianism and tolerance for their own hypocrisy and misdeeds makes the left a dangerous enemy to our freedom.

It's going to be important that we reelect Mr. Trump in 2020 so that he can continue to protect America from the left.

@georgeob1,
Quote:
That's unnecessarily offensive.
And I believe it is necessarily offensive. What is happening at the border - the forced separation of children from their parents and the children incarcerated (there have been 69,500 migrant children held, infants, todlers and teens). As you probably know, record keeping has been so shoddy that there is no means available to bring thousands of those children and parents together again. AP

Now, if evangelical and Catholic supporters of Trump were down there in significant numbers helping and if they were at the same time lobbying furiously to change Trump policies, I'd give them a pass as they would then be behaving in correspondence to Christian values. But there's no indication such activism is on-going by the "family values" contingent.

And all that is far, far more offensive than a display that points precisely to this situation.

@oralloy,
Letting the Courts decide is just one way to handle Obstruction. It is not the only way. Since there are more avenues that can be taken, impeachment for Obstruction is the path that's being chosen. It's not illegal and just as effective.

Letting the courts decide is the legal way. Did you get your law degree from a gumball machine?

@coldjoint,
There's other LEGAL ways. Such as IMPEACHMENT.

An impeachment that bypasses our legal system is not legal. Go get another gumball you might get a medical degree.

@coldjoint,
Although a gumball sounds really tasty right about now, doesn't make the impeachment illegal. How inconvenient for you.

Oh yes it does unless Democrats are above the law. You just do not get it.

Majority of voters don’t want Trump impeached, removed from office: poll

Well, what do you know. There is a post here that says they do. One of them is wrong. I like this one.

I get that the House of Representatives are the sole body of our government that can legally produce Articles of Impeachment. It's part of our Constitution. Maybe you don't get that?

Yes it is but the House is abusing that power that is the problem.

There is no obstruction. You are characterizing "Mr. Trump's attempts to have the courts handle the dispute" as "obstruction".

"Trying to have the courts handle the dispute" is not "obstruction".

It will not be effective in any way at all. Republicans are not going to remove Mr. Trump from office for wanting to have the courts decide whether a given witness will have to testify.

Wrongly referring to "trying to have the courts handle the dispute" as "obstruction" will not fool any Republicans into removing Mr. Trump from office.

Swamp draining notes from all over

Just reading up on Secretary of Health and Human Services, Alex Azar.
Quote:
From 2012 to 2017, Azar was President of the U.S. division of Eli Lilly and Company, a major pharmaceutical drug company, and was a member of the board of directors of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, a pharmaceutical lobby.
(wikipedia)

And let's remember he replaced Tom Price who was forced to resign after blowing through more than a million bucks for his own charter jet and military aircraft flights, often to cities he could have reached via car and including personal trips to Europe for he and his family.

Subhead for NYT report on Barr's attacks on the FBI
Quote:
The attorney general’s comments drew condemnations from some involved in the case, and those inside the Justice Department privately worried he might be undercutting faith in federal law enforcement to please President Trump.

Ya think?

What makes this even more repugnant is the recent comments from Barr that communities which did not show due respect to law enforcement might deserve to have such civic services withdrawn. Of course, he was talking about black communities so that's different.

@izzythepush,
Don't wish to suggest I know what Lash is thinking but she may well be making a valuable point.

You know the influence of Russian players in the Brexit campaign and in this election. You know that England and the US are not the only targets of their propaganda.

In this sense, the two elections are very clearly related.

@blatham,
Russia is trying to muddy the waters, sow confusion and distrust.

This election is about saving the UK from a disastrous trade deal with America which destroys the NHS and serves up substandard food full of carcinogens.
