Disruption is the motivation.
There's a reason guys like CJ don't put others on ignore. That would diminish their ability to view politically incorrect comments and discussions. And as the goal is to disrupt them, using ignore would defeat their purposes.
Of course, he could start his own thread like this one, presenting external content and originating/encouraging careful discussion. But that's not the way people like him operate on social media discussion sites here or elsewhere. Two key and related reasons for this behavior, I'm convinced, are:
1) a poor education. They don't have much or any familiarity with the protocols of debate/discussion that have evolved in the academic world since Classical Greece.
2) lacking the above, they have been inculcated in the worst modes of debate which have proliferated in many right wing communities and media. Limbaugh, Coulter, etc are their models.
