@oralloy,
You hate freedom. You want to ban the Democrat party. That's because you hate freedom.

You like licking the arse of the rich man. You're about as far from free as you can get. Lickspittles are never free. You can't even think for yourself.

Only a complete moron equates freedom with guns.

@neptuneblue,
OK how about the hypocrisy of someone who supports America's child murdering system of gun control trying to take the moral high ground over someone who doesn't.

If you really cared about Americans murdering children you'd want to do something about it. At least Oralloy is honest when he says he doesn't care about the lives of children.

@izzythepush,
Nobody "supports" the murder of children. Somehow you've got it in your craw to argue with me about gun control.

Why? To show "how much I really care"?

@neptuneblue,
Anyone who is against gun control supports the murder of children.

I can understand why you feel the need to lie to yourself and pretend you have no culpability whatsoever, but don't try that bullshit on me.

You can't negotiate with terrorists. If you give into gun violence as an impetus for achieving gun control, you are establishing a precedent that encourages the use of violence to effectuate policy change.

All you can do is fight against terrorism until the violence stops and only then will it be possible to have a free and fair discussion of gun-control. Until it stops, any concessions on gun-control must remain absolutely off the table.

That is just the best way to protect politics against populist manipulation/coercion by means of terrorism.

IOW: only once the problem is entirely resolved all by itself can anyone start to speak about how to solve it.

Not sure that makes much sense though....

This is one of the stupidest things you've ever said. We had a terrorist group over here called the IRA. We negotiated with them and produced a document called The Good Friday Agreement which stopped the bombing.

You really shouldn't talk about things you don't understand. Instead of getting upset with people who ignore you, you could try getting a basic education.

President Trump has said the losses his business made in the eighties and nineties were "for tax purposes".

He was tweeting in reply to a New York Times (NYT) article claiming that from 1985-95 he made losses of over $1bn.

The newspaper said that Mr Trump's property empire from 1985 "continued to lose money every year, totalling $1.17bn in losses for the decade".

Mr Trump tweeted "You always wanted to show losses... and often re-negotiate with banks, it was sport."

The NYT said that while Mr Trump has always described himself as a successful property tycoon he was for at least a decade during the eighties and nineties making huge losses on his core businesses, largely casinos, hotels and retail space in apartment buildings.

It wrote: "Year after year, Mr Trump appears to have lost more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer, The Times found when it compared his results with detailed information the [Internal Revenue Service or I.R.S.] compiles on an annual sampling of high-income earners.

"His core business losses in 1990 and 1991 — more than $250m each year — were more than double those of the nearest taxpayers in the I.R.S. information for those years."

"Overall, Mr Trump lost so much money that he was able to avoid paying income taxes for eight of the 10 years."

Spygate Louie Gohmert fires back at Dems: The real scandal is ‘attempted coup’ against President Trump

Quote:

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, has had enough of Democrats targeting Attorney General William Barr, describing what he considers a nonsensical campaign to place the head of the Justice Department in contempt of Congress.

Gohmert told his colleagues that the true scandal is the Obama intelligence apparatus’ “attempted coup” against President Trump.

“We’ve never had the Intelligence Community, the FBI, people at the top of the DOJ abusing their powers to create a case against a president where there was none. Where assets were actually used to try to set up members of the Trump campaign when there was no case. To try to create a case. We ought to be all over that. We ought to be demanding answers,” Gohmert said.

“This was an attempted coup, and history is bringing that into focus more and more clearly,” he added. “And what does this committee do about the abuses, the attempted coup? It comes in and decides, ‘We’re going to go after the attorney general who’s trying to clean up the mess.’”

The law is behind Barr, he will prevail.

I like you but this is ridiculous. The chances of anyone victimized by that shooting reading some post here on A2K is effectively zero. More likely you'll be attacked by a brown bear and a polar bear on the same afternoon. If I was writing to the local paper or speaking on some national media operation, that would be different.

But the far more significant point is that people do NOT want to think about or hear about or, particularly, to view actual images after such events because it would be so painful to do so. Children, for **** sake. So many of them. Blown into pieces or with huge gaping wounds. Young kids who go off to school and they are violently extinguished. All so that weapons manufacturers can line their pockets and so that Republicans can work up paranoids for electoral reasons. It is long, long past time for Americans to stop facilitating such evil.

Protecting our rights is not facilitating evil. Stop your constant attempts to deprive people of their rights as law abiding citizens with reasons that have nothing to do with guns and more to do with people like you lying every time you open your mouth. Guns kill no one, people do.

This is a story that we need to learn much more about. Giuliani, Trump and administration going full Putin (not full Lincoln or Washington). This looks really ugly.
Quote:
Career diplomats and members of the national security establishment bemoan a career State Department official being brought down by this kind of Trump family mafia claptrap and agitprop. They’re absolutely right to do so. But perverting the US criminal justice system and trying to goad foreign friends into targeted the President’s domestic political enemies is a far bigger deal.

I've just learnt that about half of white Republicans say it would bother them at least some to hear a foreign language in public.

Since I'm not a native English speaker (and even less an American-English speaker), I do hope, coldjoint, you're not to much bother by my presence and this question:
when has the creator of a thread on A2K leave her/his own thread? When you tell her/him to do so? Or does she/he get your placet before starting a thread?
What about people responding? Same rules?
