Blatham was just emphasizing how horrifyingly commonplace that gun violence (including that committed against innocent children) has become in this country. The fact that he does it with irony doesn’t make him insensitive or ignorant of the horror.

@neptuneblue,
To what? Children are butchered by individuals with legally held firearms almost every day. Lots of handwringing but no action.

After Dunblane we took action because we think a child's life is more important than some pathetic loser's need to have a gun just so they can feel important.

I'm not going to get into a 2nd Amendment challenge.

Recognizing a cruel post doesn't necessitate debate.

@neptuneblue,
In other words you think having a gun is more important than a child's right to life.

And you have the gall to tell Blatham off for showing disrespect.

You are part of the problem. Those children's blood is on your hands as well, not Blatham's

Well, there's your problem.

Edit: What's the acceptable time delay before such a post might be considered by you to be uncruel? 48 hours? 8 days? A lunar month?

I'm awake. Otherwise I would not be posting.

Reality is not something that vanishes, much as leftists wish that it would do so.

You didn't do anything to save any lives. All you did is abolish your freedom for no reason.

The contempt that serfs have for freedom is quite strange.

It's not like there is any contention between the two that would require someone to pick either one or the other.

Interior secretary blames Congress for lack of action on climate change
Quote:
He acknowledged climate change is real. He acknowledged that humans are contributing to it.

So why, Democratic lawmakers asked David Bernhardt, isn't he doing more to address global warming?

Apparently, because Congress hasn't told him to.

During his first testimony to Congress since becoming interior secretary, Bernhardt said it is up to lawmakers to direct bureaucrats like himself to address the causes and effects of warming globally.

“There’s a lot of impatience with the Palestinian issue. ... People have been funding this thing for a long time. They’ve gotten more aid than any group of people in history, and what we have to show for it is really not much at this point, unfortunately.”

— White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, remarks at Soref Symposium dinner hosted by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, May 2

...The Pinocchio Test
In his remarks, Kushner presented an unbalanced view of history. The Palestinians have certainly been the beneficiary of international largesse for many years. But to claim they have received more aid than any group in history ignores the fact that Israel has received far more, year after year, just from the United States.

@blatham,
I propose letting the Palestinians have the Gaza Strip as their state.

Palestinians in the West Bank could be removed and transported to the Gaza Strip.

Israel would have the right to continue the blockade of course.

Take yourself too seriously much? Disagreeing with an opinion on a discussion forum “necessitates” posting a disagreement.

You think Blatham’s post makes him cruel and insensitive. I disagree. That’s the beginning and end of the significance of this exchange. You don’t get to pass moral judgement on anyone here and then preclude debate.

Sheesh

There is only one reality, and that reality is very real. Denying reality doesn't make it go away.

And everything that I said is backed up by facts and history.

If you'd like to debate something, go right ahead. I'm not your mom, knock yourself out.
