the law that you are thinking about was Clinton's Act that controlled all assault rifles included select fire, full auto, and semi auto. That one sun-downed in 2004. However the "dangerous weapons category including cannons ,full auto, select fire, and RPG's,and sawed offs etc are still regulated under the 1930's Fed Firearms act.

Damn, that does go both ways, doesn't it. I suppose I see it as Trump trying to boost his thug creds, and Bolsonaro is tossing Trump a bone because he sees Trump as exploitable.

It does. Bolsonaro was described as the Brazilian Trump.

Lots of people over there are still in denial about what he's really like.

It did not have anything to do with full auto weapons. It focused on harmless cosmetic features like pistol grips.

Maybe I took that badly because my x is a Gulf War veteran. My brother died in Viet Nam. My dad was wounded in the Korean War.

And I deployed to Grenada.

Any conflicts of war you personally rely on to base that opinion?
