Biden Recants: Devout Christians Are Not Decent People

The Hill cites an NBC story from 2017 that said, “Biden is friendly with Pence and at that time spoke to him about once a month.”

This should have been a good thing. It’s like the George W. Bush and Michelle Obama stories. For someone who wants to run for office in what is arguably a divided nation, one would think that the left would embrace someone who extols the virtues of tolerance in the political setting.

But we all know that political tolerance is not their aim. This story damages Biden. It shows him to be an out of touch fossil who has not updated his operating system to match that of the current left.

Biden, in pursuit of political power, will surely accede to their demands. And he already has by recanting. But they will not honor his gesture.

The existing Medicare system determines just what services Doctors will be paid for providing and what they will be paid for them. (I believe this is what Pence was referring to.) One result is that the number of doctors operating under Medicare is shrinking fast (at least here in Northern California). In my experience of commerce is that he who pays sets the rules. In short the Medical practitioners are in effect employees of the government, and accountable to it and not their patients. Moreover the monopoly power of a government So I am program will affect all medical care.

Two members of US far-right group the Proud Boys pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct on Friday in connection with a brawl in Manhattan in October 2018.

Jake Freijo and Eryk Kacznyski were sentenced to five days of community service as part of a plea deal.

Six other Proud Boys members charged over the fight have also pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

The Proud Boys has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors US extremism.

The brawl broke out after a speech by Gavin McInnes, the Proud Boys founder, at Manhattan's Metropolitan Republican Club.

CCTV footage showed the Proud Boys members charging at a group who had come to protest against Mr McInnes' appearance and viciously beating them.

Prosecutors recommended the harshest possible sentence - a year in jail - against two of the members. John Kinsman and Maxwell Hare pleaded guilty to attempted assault and second-degree rioting charges.

Prosecutors called Kinsman, seen in the video wearing a red cap, the "single most vicious" member of Proud Boys, the New York Post reported.

Police said initially that the violence started after a protester threw a bottle - which can be seen clearly in the CCTV footage - but a second angle appeared to show that the Proud Boys members were already charging at the protesters when the bottle was thrown.

The morning of the speech, the Metropolitan Republican Club was targeted by vandals who spray-painted anti-fascist graffiti on its walls and glued its locks shut, police said.

On the night of the brawl, police arrested three protesters in a separate incident and charged them with assault.

The global chemical weapons watchdog has concluded chlorine is likely to have been used in an attack on the Syrian town of Douma last April.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said data gave "reasonable grounds that the use of a toxic chemical as a weapon took place".

"This toxic chemical contained reactive chlorine," it added, without assigning blame.

Medics said more than 40 people died in the attack on the then rebel-held area.

The US, UK and France accused Syrian government forces, who were besieging Douma, of using chemical weapons in the 7 April attack, and carried out air strikes in retaliation.

The Syrian government has denied ever using chemical weapons, and its ally Russia has said the attack was "staged" by rescue workers.

The OPCW's conclusions were based on environmental samples, witness interviews and other data gathered by members of a fact-finding mission that visited a number of sites in Douma two weeks after the attack.

The watchdog also said it found no evidence of the use of nerve agents in Douma, as some initial reports suggested, nor any evidence to support the government's claim that a local facility was being used by rebel fighters to produce chemical weapons.
