Enough said. Is Justin going to adopt Muslim dress? Aren't immigrants wonderful?

The Democrats appear to be deadset on sabotaging any attempted solution to the "family separation" problem:

Quote:
Even if Republicans manage to pass an immigration bill through the House, which is a tall order, the fight is all but certain to fizzle in the Senate.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader from New York, is adamant that Trump can end the family separations on his own and that legislation is not needed.

Without Democratic support, Republicans cannot muster the 60 votes needed to move forward on legislation.

After falsely claiming that Trump was "solely responsible" for the problem and could easily fix it all with a "phone call," the failing NYT is now bitching that his executive order (which Trump himself knows is skirting the law) is "illegal."

Nothing will satisfy them, short of completely open borders. Now they're also complaining that Trump's order will only serve to keep kids in detention longer, and arguing that it should be rescinded.

The whole "Oh, look at the poor children" hand-wringing has merely been a subterfuge designed to advance their TRUE agenda, i.e., expanding their voting base by importing foreigners illegally.

You try to make it sound like Trump's largely doing this to protect the immigrants. Maybe you can explain that with Trumps own words....

You don't dehumanize people you are pretending to care about. Human beings do not infest countries. Trump apologists fall all over themselves trying to make him seem less like the authoritarian hate-monger that he obviously is.

@Blickers,
I'd like to know how they explain "tender age shelters". The folks that believe in family values, and haven't figured out that if mothers and babies can be jailed for a misdemeanor...... better hope they never have a parking violation....I wouldn't want their kids to be sent to a adolescent/baby jail in another corner of the US while a court unravels the dastardly intent of the parking ticket.

What they believe is the infestation. Tuberculosis, and measles are back in Minnesota thanks to Somali immigrants. And that broad statement full of love for all mankind is like the hope and prayers you make fun of, you say they are empty. There is no doubt your concern with mankind just as empty. How to control them is your passion along with POWER.

Some commentator in TV said that "tender age" is a term left over from the Victorian era, which is probably where this Administration is in regards to human rights and social benefits.

Every week it seems Trump becomes more convinced he can Twitter his way out of anything. Looks like it's beginning to catch up to him.

Calling them 'tender age shelters' makes my blood run cold. It sounds like something the third reich would concur up to make a facility sound harmless.

They don't necessarily infest a country, but they (or a portion of them) can, there aint no denying that:

Quote:
Definition of infest

transitive verb

1 : to spread or swarm in or over in a troublesome manner: --a slum infested with crime--shark-infested waters.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/infest

Aliens swarming into our country illegally to the tune of 50,000+ every month is "troublesome."

How does that compare to a bed, food, medical care, education and safety?

It's a dangerous journey, but not all women get raped on the way. And it's indicative of the Trump defenders that they would use the ordeal these people went through as a justification for the US government to practice cruel and inhumane treatment to those coming here.

So, reading's not your thing, huh? I didn't justify anything except that the journey though Mexico is probably far more dangerous to a child's mental health than to be separated from their parents for awhile. Nothing the US has done is cruel and inhumane. You guys have exaggerated this to such an extent there is simply nothing to say to you.

@McGentrix,
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind....

I guess the wind changed for these frauds, eh? And they were so forceful, so convincing about their sincerity, conviction, and devotion to the cause of securing the borders and entirely eliminating illegal immigration. They swore they would end it and got standing ovations from their homeys when they did.

I'm kinda disillusioned now, truth be told.

True not all women immigrants are raped by the coyotes who are paid by them to get to and across the border, however enough do to be a real human problem. Increasingly the coyotes are controlled by the drug cartels in Mexico, perhaps the most cruel and deadly organized crime syndicates in the world. The point remains that many would be immigrants are victims of the traffickers who make their money exploiting our unprotected borders and lax treatment of illegal immigrants. A border wall and real enforcement of our long standing immigration laws would quickly end the easy opportunity we foolishly give them.

We have evaded both enforcement and needed revision of our immigration laws for several decades because previous administrations were afraid to face the political issues involved. Meanwhile the situation became worse and worse both for the country and the deserving immigrants. We are foolishly rewarding the wrong people and behaviors, and it will get far worse if we don't act on the matter. Happily we have a President who is willing to face and deal with the situation as it is.

As heartless as it might sound to those of you of the tree hugger persuasion, you really must acknowledge we need Trump to confiscate those infants and toddlers and the little girls stored away in New York to keep all the sissy's comfortable enough to sleep at night. Don't worry about those toddlers and infants, it's not like they are American babies......they are criminal spawn. All Hail Herr Tumpmeister, he will make sure those children aren't returned to those criminals. God Bless America (I can hear Kate Smith in the ether)

Even though you are wrong in your assessment of Trump's failure, I'll give you credit for finally fessing up to your true agenda.

No lefty wanted Trump to solve (what they disingenuously tried to frame as) the 'family separation" problem by simply dealing directly with the kids. They didn't want an executive order which alleviated the kids' separation problems. All they really wanted was to try to force him to retreat from his "zero tolerance" policy and return to the dangerous and failed "catch and release" policies of Obama. Those policies were tantamount to the open borders law they want enacted (but which they'll never get from voters).

They failed in this bogus strategy, and now they're pissed.

Outsmarted by Trump once again. He has taken away what they saw as their "crying babies" trump card, which they wanted to keep alive and unresolved in order to get votes and sympathy for their open borders crusade.

Nice try, cheese-eaters.
