It's understandable why this guy was fired, if this is his standard fare. "Fake news" is on it's way out, it seems. This cartoon isn't humorous, funny, satirical, enlightening, or informative in any way. It doesn't bear the slightest shred of a relationship to reality. It is simply a fanciful lie born and bred from irrational hatred. The public aint buying this **** no more. Well, except for cheese-eaters, if you're willing to count them as part of the "public," I guess

This cartoon is in response to a news report on NPR about immigrant children being used to fish out their parents in order to prosecute them for illegally entering the country. Once claimed, parents are then arrested on the spot and taken into custody.

Chinese media have mocked US President Donald Trump over plans to impose 25% tariffs on $50bn worth of Chinese goods, saying "wise men build bridges but fools build walls".

Mr Trump announced the tariffs on Friday, accusing Beijing of intellectual copyright theft.

China retaliated, saying it would impose an additional 25% tariff on 659 US goods worth $50bn.

Stock markets fell after the announcements amid fear of a trade war.

The US had earlier warned that it will impose even more tariffs should China retaliate.

Mr Trump said the tariffs were "essential to preventing further unfair transfers of American technology and intellectual property to China, which will protect American jobs."

The Chinese product lines that have been hit range from aircraft tyres to turbines and commercial dishwashers.

State-controlled media made a concerted attack on the new US measures.

"Following the path of expanding and opening up is China's best response to the trade dispute between China and the United States, and is also the responsibility that major countries should have to the world," said an editorial in Xinhua news agency.

"The wise man builds bridges, the fool builds walls," it commented.

Reminder that the people currently justifying tearing children away from their parents spent the last twenty years insisting "every child deserves a mother and a father."

President Trump has calculated that he will gain political leverage in congressional negotiations by continuing to enforce a policy he claims to hate — separating immigrant parents from their young children at the southern border, according to White House officials.

On Friday, Trump suggested he would not change the policy unless Democrats agreed to his other immigration demands, which include funding a border wall, tightening the rules for border enforcement and curbing legal entry. He also is intent on pushing members of his party to vote for a compromise measure that would achieve those long-standing priorities.

Trump’s public acknowledgment that he was willing to let the policy continue as he pursued his political goals came as the president once again blamed Democrats for a policy enacted and touted by his own administration.
