@Lash,
Quote:Trump bias is pretty virulent.
Both pro-Trump and anti-Trump, it seems.
But I think too much is being made of the shift of positions; I don't think it means that people can't think for themselves. Take government-run healthcare — if a Democratic politician talks about the subject, people assume it will be along the lines of the ACA (the way it was supposed to work) and Democrats will be supportive, Republicans antagonistic. Now Trump has discussed government-run healthcare but there have been no details forthcoming.
Given his opposition to so many of the provisions of the ACA it's not surprising that Democrats wouldn't trust him to follow through with an appealing and effective system. In order to really determine political bias people would need to be shown fully thought-out healthcare plans, not just statements made on the campaign trail.
Interestingly, there was a time when conservatives were supporting a plan concocted by the Heritage Foundation similar to the ACA. Democrats would probably have opposed it, favoring something like "Medicare for all" — which would have been duly opposed by Republicans.
