The Evil Witch of the West suddenly comes out of her dark pit and it is utterly unsurprising why she has done so right at this moment.

This is about protecting her daddy and, I'm sure, protecting her future WH goals. Though the odds are against me, I'd still make a wager that the next GOP ticket will be her and Tom Cotton.l

@hightor,
I'd like to announce here and now that you are the week's winner in our singularly significant category...

The Poster Who Has Consistently Demonstrated That He Would Sit Far Farther than Bernie Towards the Positive End of That Scale Which Begins With Job and Terminates With One of Those Egyptian Pharaohs Who Had Sex With Farm Animals.

I'd tip my hat but I'm not sure I've got it wrong.

@blatham,
It is a consistent stance for Paul. Hardly unexpected; and one I can't disagree with. Maybe he will filibuster the nomination.

Sounds like an excellent follow up to eight years of Trump.

Her closet may have a few too many skeletons to be workable. Then again that's what I thought about #45.

@ehBeth,
Yes. That's why I mentioned practicality as my reason. Damned pity. Right now, a lot of voices on the right are pushing "Pocohantas", Trump included. They want to do to Warren what they did to Hillary. Everyone ought to be prepared.

I have taken the "Pocohantas" retort as a badge of honor for Warren. Of course, that is just a personal thing I can mental fix for me. Well, it works, and therefore no longer gives me any heartburn Cool

Warren is too old and much too much like Clinton in her policy wonkness.

@blatham,
What did "they" do to Hillary?

You need only listen to Hillary's comments made recently in India to realize that no one needed to do anything to portray her as a self-absorbed, bitter, elitist with an uncanny ability to turn people against her.

I suppose that she was a delightful and gregarious young innocent before the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy hounded her into a transformation into a mean-spirited harridan. Rolling Eyes

Similarly, Elizabeth Warren needs no assistance in persuading great swathes of people that she is "unlikeable."

This follows one week after Hope Hicks left the WH. So, here's two people very close to Trump (and who would know a LOT) who are no longer part of the WH staff. I'm not sure how these two disappearances might have legal consequences re Meuller's investigation so if you guys see anything good written on this, I'd love it if you'd post it here.

Three people very close, don't forget heavy man - Rob Porter.

I have a fourth person for this list, the person closer for the longest period of time to tRump - Keith Schiller. He did leave of his own accord, and if I remember correctly, it was right after an appearance with Mueller - like Hope Hicks. Coincidence, probably not. Someday we will find out why.

She isn't my favorite either. Too, too left wing for me. I do have a lot of respect for her. Whereas, I always considered Hillary to be more to the center, where I live.

@BillW,
I wish people wouldn't immediately think "Let's run X for president!" any time some politicians distinguish themselves in legislative debate. The qualities which make for a good chief executive and the ones which make for an good legislator are different. I, for one, think Warren is much more influential and effective where she is, not out on the national campaign trail or trying to staff and direct a bloated executive bureaucracy.

@hightor,
I agree completely, and although I certainly don't know, I think it's possible that Warren has the same attitude. She has never thrown her hat in the ring, but has provided quiet leadership for the party from the Senate. Your point about the different skills required for the two jobs is well taken. I believe (and may be wrong) that she is the senior Democratic senator after Schumer and Durbin. She would make a very good leader, either majority leader or minority leader, down the road.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Twitter is awash with Hillary detractors and fans who can’t believe the damage she continues to heap on the D party.

Most people wish that old gasbag would stfu.

Meanwhile, Bernie electrifies the students who walked out yesterday. They responded to him like he was a rockstar.

He’s practically 80 years old.

@oralloy,
He was proud that they are standing up to demonstrate their first amendment rights. Maybe their generation will have the strength of conviction to fix this shithole.

They love our freedom—that’s what they were celebrating. You’re becoming a predictable one trick pony these days: “They hate our freedom.” You’re going to lose traction with that tired, meaningless refrain.

There's a conversation I'll skip for now but I was meaning to point to how the American right will behave when they perceive an electoral threat coming from a competent female - character assassination first and foremost. True for males as well (Kerry, Gore, Obama) but with females, the tone changes. "Wonkishness", for example, is perfectly fine and even admirable in Paul Ryan, they'll suggest. But in a woman, it's unsexy and verging on improper.
