@oralloy,
The NRA is a terrorist organization. The media should speak of the NRA in the same way they do ISIS. Total ISIS-inspired deaths in US = 79. Thanks to the NRA & the politicians they buy, we’ve had 1.2 MILLION American gun deaths since John Lennon was shot dead in NYC #NRAKillsKids

============

The numbers speak for themselves. The NRA is a terrorist organization, a sub-group of the USA government aimed at keeping people primed to commit and support US terrorist actions around the globe.

Sure they are. But with a plethora of fine hunting rifles on the market it's hard to see how restricting their sale would make a difference to anyone.

That was Finn's allegation so he'd have to show you where I said anything like that.

I'm not asking Finn; I'm asking you. Do you want handguns to be banned?

AR-15. They are also used for hunting, just like any other rifle.
I'd imagine about as often as dynamite is used for fishing.

@Olivier5,
Quote:
Routine handgun injuries leave entry and exit wounds and linear tracks through the victim’s body that are roughly the size of the bullet. If the bullet does not directly hit something crucial like the heart or the aorta, and the victim does not bleed to death before being transported to our care at the trauma center, chances are that we can save him. The bullets fired by an AR-15 are different: They travel at a higher velocity and are far more lethal than routine bullets fired from a handgun. The damage they cause is a function of the energy they impart as they pass through the body. A typical AR-15 bullet leaves the barrel traveling almost three times faster than—and imparting more than three times the energy of—a typical 9mm bullet from a handgun. [...] The high-velocity bullet causes a swath of tissue damage that extends several inches from its path. It does not have to actually hit an artery to damage it and cause catastrophic bleeding. Exit wounds can be the size of an orange.

You mean rifle bullets do vastly more damage than handgun bullets?!?

Why didn't any one ever notice this before?!?

Good grief. Liberals are so goofy.

Quote:
As a doctor, I feel I have a duty to inform the public of what I have learned as I have observed these wounds and cared for these patients. It’s clear to me that AR-15 and other high-velocity weapons, especially when outfitted with a high-capacity magazine, have no place in a civilian’s gun cabinet.

So in other words, the left wants to ban hunting rifles.

Actually we already knew that. But it's always good to post a reminder that liberals are after the hunters too.

That's so exciting. No wonder these people love this type of weapon.

More confirmation that liberals want to ban hunting rifles.

@oralloy,
NRA members like to fantasize a lot. "Oh, the sky is falling the sky is falling!"

@Olivier5,
This is why a good hunter wouldn't want/use a weapon like an AR-15. Major internal damage and big exit wound? I was taught those were to be avoided when hunting. A clean shot, as little internal damage as possible as it can spoil the meat.

It makes a difference because if someone chooses a different style than what you want to impose on them, that is their business and none of yours.

So you imagine that people fish with dynamite as often as people hunt with AR-15 rifles? Really?

Good. Then we can do away with the "self-defense" excuse.

What self defense excuse?

The reason why you don't get to choose what guns other people buy is because it is none of your business.

European-style serfdom
You use the term "serf" very often, now (and perhaps earlier) even grouped as "European-style serfdom".

There has never been a "European-style serfdom" because it differed in time periods as well as in the various countries/under various rulers.

To what period and what region are you referring?
And what exactly is your understanding of serfdom?

The article explains in some detail that the path of destruction left by a high-velicity bullet in the body it goes through is much much wider than that of a 'normal' handgun bullet. It's like being shot by a cannon ball.

That rifle bullets do vastly more damage than handgun bullets is not a huge revelation.
