@ehBeth,
Yes. My twin and his wife just attended a talk given by two First Nations individuals on the residential schools which they had personal experiences with. Horrible.

From the indictment (h/t to Josh Marshall)
Quote:
[The defendents] engaged in operations primarily intended to communicate derogatory information about Hillary Clinton, to denigrat other candidates such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, and to support Bernie Sanders and then-candidate Donald Trump

Quote:
From an outline of instruction to trolls Specialist were instructed post content that focused on "politics in the USA" and to "use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump - we support them).

Quote:
[One] specialist was criticized for having a "low number of posts dedicated to criticizing Hillary Clinton" and was told "it is imperative to intensify criticizing Hillary Clinton in future posts

It is becoming apparent to me that a great number of Repukes, especially leadership, have made group decisions to ignore, or at least minimize the Russian interference. Why? Easy, they are backing the Repukes and that can't make them all bad, right!

That is clearly their behavior and their motivation. But this follows a distinct pattern we see again and again - the main driving force behind conservatism now is gaining/expanding power.

in Friday’s indictment of 13 Russians for election interference, we read:
Quote:

Defendants and their co-conspirators also used false U.S. personas to ask real U.S. persons to participate in the “Florida Goes Trump” rallies. Defendants and their co-conspirators asked certain of these individuals to perform tasks at the rallies. For example, Defendants and their co-conspirators asked one U.S. person to build a cage on a flatbed truck and another U.S. person to wear a costume portraying Clinton in a prison uniform.

@ehBeth,
This is very worrisome. I hope western democracies are up to the task of navigating their way through the changes that are and will come about. I'm not at all sure they will.

@blatham,
True, but they also know they are contracting drastically in national, state and local venues in the November elections unless they can do something! Is that something - Russia?

There are more people using the charges of treason seeing the light of day if conspiracy is true.....

Just out - There is wording in the lastest Manafort filing for his bail in the reply by Mueller that shows the property he wants to use for the bail is contaminated by Manafort and liable to foreclosure by the bank. In fact, this makes Manafort susceptible to further charges and could be used to pull his bail and incarcerate him now pending trail, hmmmm..........

My guess is that anyone who might be thinking that way will - as of today - recognize the dangers. Those indictments are amazing in that as deep and thorough as this investigation obviously is, we undoubtedly know only a very small fraction of what intel and Meuller's team knows. I would think that few operatives who might otherwise have imagined that to be a worthwhile strategy would still think so after today.

@blatham,
There are unnamed, currently unindicted co-conspirators of American citizenship mentioned in his indictment also.

Quote:
“[Putin] said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Hanoi following a meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Danang.

Asked directly if he believed Putin, Trump suggested he was keen to move on to other issues. “Look,” he said, “I can’t stand there and argue with him. I would rather have him get out of Syria, to be honest with you. I would rather … get to work with him on the Ukraine.”

But moments later, Trump circled back to the issue of meddling, saying that Putin has repeatedly denied any involvement. “Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” the president said.

And let's note that today's indictments have nothing to do with the Russian hacking of podesta's and DNC's emails.

So how many further indictments are still to come? God knows.

Mike Farb (unhackthevote) has been posting some interesting stuff about the connections between the Russian bot account sites, wiki leaks and a couple of hundred trump organization sub domains.

Too phunny. Lots of "bot accounts" on social media are having a good ol' laugh about their new descriptors.

The indictment is here. https://www.justice.gov/file/1035477/download

If you scope page 14, you'll note that it assumes ownership of global platforms such as facebook as being US property.

Pretty weak argument, peeps. Waste of time and money, much like the election.
