@layman,
Dershowitz is a "left-winger"? Being a civil libertarian doesn't mean he's a lefty. Hell, he supported Clinton over Sanders. Clinton was not a 'leftwing" candidate. At all.

Find a leftist with similar views who is not also a strong supporter of Israel and their criticism of the Iran nuclear deal might be more significant.

Leave it to a cheese-eater, like you, to think the islamofascists are "liberal," and that that would be the only reason why a conservative patriot would oppose them, eh?
Well, they want a stronger Muslim-government, like they had had it under Ayatollah Khomeini. And those conservatives obviously think that the current government there is too liberal.

How could it get "more muslim" than it is?
Like it was a couple of years ago

Those aren't "conservatives," they are like-minded islamofascists.
Since you seem to be well-educated about the situation (at least better than my sources): what do the conservatives want there? They aren't monarchists, so what is there 'conservative line-up'?

I don't have to know the "situation in Iran" to know that "conservatives" will invariably oppose government oppression, rampant corruption, extreme human rights abuses, etc.
The protests have been unleashed in Mashhad by conservative political opponents of the government of Hassan Rohani. This city in eastern Iran is a stronghold of supporters of the defeated presidential candidate Ebrahim Raisi.

So you really would prefer Raisi?

The conservative protests are directed against the state budget: among other things, the budget specifies the distribution of budgets for spiritual seminars and contains some rather neo-liberal (for Iran) economic plans. Conservatives disagree with that,

I don't know anything about either of those pervs, and I don't have to know in order to conclude that I wouldn't "prefer" either of them.
And yet you named those conservative protesters, who oppose the current government because it is not conservative enough, "conservative patriot" in your response above.

Decent people will always oppose oppression, whatever their views on the "budget" might be.
So the Raisi conservatives are decent people?

@layman,
Also from your above quoted source:
Quote:
Mr Rouhani - a moderate who agreed a deal with world powers in 2015 to limit Iran's nuclear programme in return for the lifting of economic sanctions - said on Sunday that Iranians were "absolutely free to criticise the government and protest".
Quote:
Reformists and conservatives have blamed each other and foreign powers for sparking the unrest.
Quote:
Who are the protesters?
The range of slogans suggests a variety of groups are taking part and this seems to be a movement without national leaders. But so far most of the protesters appear to have been poor, unemployed people who are struggling to feed their families.

@hightor,
Hasn't Dershowitz been on the Trump, Putin, Fox side of the ledger for a while now?

Trump's attacks against a biased liberal media obscure one fact: it doesn't exist
There might not be any idea more central to the modern American conservative belief system than "liberal media bias".
