Well that worked.

Quote:
North Korea has said it is considering carrying out missile strikes on the US Pacific territory of Guam.
The report in state media, quoting an earlier military statement, came hours after President Donald Trump threatened North Korea with "fire and fury".
The North's official news agency said it was considering a plan to fire medium-to-long-range rockets at Guam, where US strategic bombers are based.
The exchanges mark a sharp rise in rhetoric between the two countries.

@izzythepush,
Yes. But Trump is a genius so...

What is really needed is for Mike Pence to visit SK again and re-glower at NK. To send a message of resolve. Again.

They're both geniuses.

More of Fart's hypocrisy.

Quote:
The White House has said it would comment on an explosion that rocked a Minnesota mosque when it has "some kind of finalised investigation".
Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, said the White House would "wait and see" in case the blast turned out to be a hoax.
The FBI is investigating what Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton has called "a criminal act of terrorism".
Critics pointed out Mr Trump quickly responded after London's terror attack.

So, one important question is now settled.
Quote:
Texas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s evangelical advisers who preached the morning of his inauguration, has released a statement saying the president has the moral authority to take out North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil,” Jeffress said. “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.”

I'd been pretty anxious about the whole nuclear war thing but not any longer.

@georgeob1,
Shame on you Georgeob, it should be beneath you to even think of a sentence that puts the right of Americans to vote for our representatives in Local, State and Federal elections on a par with individual States establishing laws to regulate the privilege of driving a motor vehicle.

I don't think anything is, shame is a concept for those who haven't sold their souls to Mammon.

“He’s saying don’t test America, and don’t test Donald J. Trump,” Gorka responded. “We are not just a superpower. We were a superpower. We are now a hyperpower.

And once those Boy Scouts Trump spoke to grow up, the US will be not just a hyperpower but a Mega Supra Colossus power. And America will dominate the world and all the known universe until the end of time. Or longer.

FWIW: US nuclear arsenal is not different in any way whatsoever from when Trump came in.
“Review” is underway; changes/ results take years

@izzythepush,
I read somewhere a pundit saying that it would be best to be quiet as the smartest mode re North Korea, as that has been smart in the past. Oh, well, Trump doesn't read.

As another noted yesterday, Gorka stated that Trump's failure to speak to or even mention the bombing of a Muslim mosque in Minnesota was only due to a rational stance of waiting until all the facts had come in.

Then this morning...

France vehicle attack leaves at least six soldiers injured

All of this clearly has NOTHING to do with feeding anti-Muslim bigotry in the GOP/Trump base. Nothing whatsoever.

You could even fit it in a tweet, @realDonaldTrump.

It sure would be nice if the Trump administration had submitted some nominations for ambassadors to China, Japan, and South Korea by now....

These aren't democrats delaying the vote here...this is your president who has chosen to go golfing every 3 days INSTEAD of submitting these nominations.

@MontereyJack,
Interesting to read/compare/contrast the coverage of the Manafort raid at a range of sites. It runs from simple announcements to describing Manafort as a victim.

I like how they describe it as a "raid," eh? They simply delivered a search warrant, and Manafort, they say, fully co-operated with them in providing the documents they sought, which had already been delivered to congress without a subpoena.

Quote:
News of the raid comes as the Senate Judiciary Committee, one of several congressional committees also investigating Moscow’s interference, disclosed that records from Mr. Manafort were among the thousands of pages of it recently received.

That said, it looks like Mueller aint as effective in controlling leaks as he would like people to think, eh?
