I haven't read it yet, but, assuming we have adequate intelligence, I don't see why we couldn't, or shouldn't, obliterate all their nuclear facilities and weapons in a preemptive attack--say around 4:00 A.M, local time.

Didn't Israel do that with Iran?

As far as the left-wing goes, the phonier, the better. Whatever gives them some weak-ass "rationale" for condemning their capitalist enemies is useful. If it's also inauthentical, that's fine.

Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel posted a tweet telling "freedom-loving Americans" that radical Islam was "infiltrating the heartland".
The New York Post said the website of the New York state town of Brookhaven was also affected.
The group known as Team System DZ has carried out a number of hacking sprees in the past, many carrying anti-Israel messages.
The US is currently holding high-level inquiries into alleged cyber attacks by Russia aimed at influencing the result of last year's presidential election.

What do open borders have to do with anything, other than being a plank in the commie platform, I mean? What better way to destroy capitalism from within than to let hundreds of millions of deadbeat loser commies come in and demand welfare payments from the evil corporate taxpayers is there?

For about the umpteenth goddam time, the point is that the Russians (meaning hackers allied with the Russian military and likely with the full knowledge of Putin) attempted on multiple occasions to infiltrate state election boards and released, after a phishing attack, damaging e-mails from the DNC. There is, at this time and possibly never, no proof of "collusion" but the extensive contact between Trump campaign personnel (who denied, lied, but eventually "remembered" these incidents) and Russian officials raise ancillary questions as to what the nature of these contacts was really about.

Israel did it with Iraq and Syria, both before they ever developed weapons.

Israel wanted to do it with Iran, but Obama pressured them to hold off and give his negotiations gambit a try. Obama also promised Israel that if negotiations failed, the US Air Force would conduct the bombardment of Iranian facilities.

It is still an open question whether the negotiations will ultimately succeed or not, but Iran was forced to the negotiation table by worldwide sanctions, and Iran can clearly see the way that North Korea was slammed with worldwide sanctions when they developed nuclear weapons. While I'm sure they would love to have nukes if there were no consequences from getting them, I think there is a good chance that Iran will decide that they don't want to be isolated from the world the way North Korea has been.

Of course that leaves the question of illicit nuclear development. But after the 2003 Iraq war I developed a new respect for UN weapons inspectors. Having UN scientists racing around the country trying to discover illicit sites really did a very good job of suppressing Iraqi weapons development between 1991 and 2003.

It is too late to strike North Korea before they develop weapons. They already have atomic warheads on missiles that can strike Tokyo and Guam.

It is not too late to attack North Korea before they develop missiles that can strike Los Angeles and San Francisco though. We're still a couple years away from that.

The reason we never attacked North Korea before they developed nukes is because they have between 10,000 and 20,000 artillery units positioned to fire on Seoul. It would be difficult to destroy all of those artillery pieces before most of them fire off a long barrage of shells.

Seoul has a population of about 25 million, and most of those people live in apartment towers that are greater than 40 stories. If we assume that a handful of shells will bring down one of these apartment towers, the shelling of Seoul will result in hundreds of collapsed towers with over a million people trapped in the rubble. Picture the devastation of hundreds of World Trade Center collapses in the same city on the same day.

Vladimir Putin has said Russia will fight for an independent Palestinian state, and called for the issues of the Middle East to be resolved through peaceful means.

Despite international criticism over Russia’s own role in the Ukrainian crisis, Mr Putin was hailed last week by a St Petersburg Cossack group for his ability to “bring order and stop wars”.

In an address to the Arab League summit in Egypt on Saturday, Mr Putin spoke against foreign intervention in countries’ internal disputes and spoke of the role Russia can play in diplomatic channels.

His attempts to urge a peaceful solution in Yemen haven’t had much of an immediate impact – on Sunday, the Arab League agreed to the creation of a joint military forces comprised of around 40,000 elite troops to resolve the future “challenges” of the Middle East.

As one of the “Quartet” entities involved in Middle East peace negotiations, Russia has played a key role in talks about the fallout of last year’s Gaza crisis.

He told the summit this weekend: “Palestinians have the right to establish an independent and habitable state with a capital in East Jerusalem.

“Russia will continue to contribute to achieving this goal through bilateral and multilateral channels,” he said.

There are two ways for the Palestinians to achieve such a state. One is by negotiations. The other is by force of arms.

Negotiations would require the Palestinians to accept a fair deal with Israel. The Palestinians consistently refuse to do that despite repeated fair offers from Israel, and there is no reason to expect the Palestinian position to change.

The Palestinians lack the military power to seize any land from Israel by force of arms. That as well is not going to change.

So we might as well give up on the idea of a contiguous state or East Jerusalem as a capital. It is not going to happen.

A Palestinian state that is confined to Area A alone, though, (plus the Gaza Strip of course) is something that the Palestinians might be able to manage.

The Palestinians and their demented supporters would be well advised to scale their goals down to what they are capable of achieving.

You should know better than try that with me. I don't have that power and neither do you. What the Israelis do is their entire responsibility.

The truth is that most Israelis are satisfied with the status quo. They don't need to annex anything which they already control... They have what they want, and they don't care much that they do so at the expense of other people being deprived of what they want. According to the hasbara, the Palestinians do not even exist, so why would any Israeli care for what happens to people who are not supposed to exist?
