These self-righteous, cheese-eatin homosexual thespians who presume to lecture the Vice President of the U. S. are starting to get a taste of their own medicine, eh?:

Quote:
'Blood of Steve Scalise is on your hands!' Protesters disrupt 'Julius Caesar'

Protesters disrupted a New York City stage production of "Julius Caesar" Friday that featured a bloody assassination of a character that resembled President Trump.

One protester, identified as Jack Posobiec, rose to his feet and yelled, "The blood of Steve Scalise is on your hands" and "Goebbels would be proud."

"We were protesting what we saw was the normalization of violence," he told me. "I couldn't believe they were going on with the play in light of what happened with the attack on Congressman Scalise."

"This play was savage and brutal. He is stabbed multiple times, running around stage, crawling through blood," he told me. "It made my blood run cold seeing Americans cheering a depiction of their president being stabbed 100 times with 100 blades."

"This Manhattan Central Park crowd was on their feet cheering - they were cheering as an actor dressed as the president was stabbed to death," he told me.

He said it turned his stomach.

The left wing isn't denouncing the incitement to violence, they are cheering it on, eh?

It seems that one protester who got on stage and shouted "Stop Leftist Violence," was arrested for "criminal trespass." Too bad she wasn't a cheese-eatin reporter for the Guardian, eh? Then she would have had a license to trespass, ya know?

@Finn dAbuzz,
Oh my Gosh!

Thank you one and all for your kind words and good wishes, but I'm not having surgery this afternoon (or anytime soon I hope) and it never occurred to me, for even a moment, that anyone would read my comment as anything other than the jest it was intended to be.

I'll be more careful in the future, but again, I very much appreciate the sentiments expressed even though they were not deserved.

That's gotta be a lie, Finn, ya big-ass troll, ya.

You knew damn well there were left-wingers in the crowd.

In all of the many thousands of times the standard presentation this Shakespearean play has been staged, the audience has never been known to cheer wildly when Caesar is assassinated, eh? Generally the mood gets very somber.

Go figure.

Chances are that at least one person in that crowd is making himself a little "list" right now, eh? He'll know that he will be immortalized as a leftist hero if he can succeed in his plans. Kinda like Che, ya know?

Oh, well, I guess it didn't go over so well as a joke. I would say, rain check or something but I wouldn't wish you to have heart surgery.

I gotta say, those Caesar protesters need to get a grip. Watch the show and see what it is about. I haven't seen it, but according to those putting on the play, it about how far people go in politics and how they fall.

Quote:
Shakespeare actors and scholars told CBS News earlier this week that the protests fundamentally misunderstood the lesson of the play.

"The play doesn't condone violence," Shakespeare actor Joe Wegner told CBS News. "It actually is a story about what happens when an act like that is committed. And you watch these characters realize that. And then, in the end, everything falls."

CBS News

What is next, burning books because they suggest something somebody don't like?

Shakespeare's play is NOT what this production is, so stop with the false pretense. It's not the "message" this audience is looking for. It's the chance to cheer wildly when Trump is brutally killed.

Wise up, cheese-eater.

You're just another apologist for the violent fantasies of the left.

A blanket pardon is prima facie obstruction of justice for interference with an ongoing investigation

No it isn't. Try to get a grip on reality here.

MontereyJack wrote:
He would promptly be impeached for that and shown the gate.

The Republicans will not go along with impeachment without both of two things:

a) serious evidence of serious crimes, and

b) a convincing argument why anyone should care after Democrats allowed Bill Clinton to get away with perjury, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

You have neither of those two things.

MontereyJack wrote:
Nice try, turkey, it won't work.

A presidential pardon will instantly and irrevocably end your witch hunt against the pardoned person, and there is nothing that you can do to undo a pardon.

@layman,
For the record:

Quote:
Cassius attempts to influence Brutus's opinions into believing Caesar should be killed, preparing to have Brutus join his conspiracy to kill Caesar....He then decides to join Cassius in killing Caesar.

...Casca grazes Caesar in the back of his neck, and the others follow in stabbing him; Brutus is last.

The play ends with a tribute to Brutus by Antony, who proclaims that Brutus has remained "the noblest Roman of them all."

What I have been saying here is that the right wing has contributed far more to hate speech and to an environment that makes violence more likely, than has the left. And that a reasonable and honest person would admit that.

Interesting that you equate "reason and honesty" with "agreement with your silly nonsense".

snood wrote:
You lament the imminent dissolution of the union. I don't know if I agree with that prediction, but I do agree that it would take some concessions from both sides to save it.

The Union will be saved when the Democratic Party is crushed into political insignificance.

Since when did you have any connection with objective reality? You even slander police officers who legitimately defend themselves by calling them murderers.

It is fact that the right has contributed more to the destruction of civil discourse.

No it isn't.

snood wrote:
The ubiquitousness of rightwing talk radio, the rise of the alt-right, and the increased prominence of extreme views in the republican mainstream is objective reality.

The Left has their share of nutty extremists on the radio.
