In any event, the memoes have been confirmed to have existed and Comey wanted it leaked to reporters. He did it because Trump hinted about tapes and he hoped it would spark the need for special counsel. Smart. Comey just said for Trump to release the tapes. (saw the sentence on one of those rolling headlines on MSNBC while posting, not on the link below)

Comey just said that he saw nothing wrong with announcing that Trump was not under investigation and that he would have willingly done it if the DOJ had asked him to. He was unsure if that was a wise thing to do, but he saw nothing inherently "improper" about it.

Comey says he composed his memos on a laptop, but keeps saying he doesn't have copies because he gave them to Mueller.

Don't know about his, but my computer doesn't erase a document as soon as I print it.

Even if that's how his computer works, he knows how to use a copying machine. He made a copy for his pal to read to the press.

Why no copy?

Does it strike anyone as even remotely credible that he has no copies of his own compositions?

Why doesn't he want to give these to congress?
