Guilt from leaving Abuzz
Abuzz was great awhile back when I joined,
then began to go downhill fast..... in fact, this
came along just in the nick of time, so to
speak. Aside from a few stuffy curmudgeons
everyone I was used to seeing post topics
and threads seemed to disappear - so on I
came to A2K, I will still check back if an
interesting topic comes up on Abuzz - but
it is the law of natural selection in process,
I guess. Glad A2K is here, glad you all
are here, and glad I am here. There is not
a thing that I could do to improve Abuzz,
nor to solve the myriad of problems that
existed there. I was simply grateful that I
was not well known enough, to have some
weird person running about posting threads
responding to questions etc and using my
user name! I doubt that the NYT ever imagined
what Abuzz would grow to be.

I wonder if NYT is feeling any regret now.....considering the success of A2K.

I miss the old Abuzz but that was back in the days of me being just hatched into the techie world. All of you are here now. And that's a good thing. I really believe Abuzz is dead now or on it's last legs. Hats off to the few that try to revive it tho, Misti being one with all those great quotes.
I'm just glad to be here is all I'm saying I guess.

Rae- I always figured that the NYT had some reason for keeping Abuzz alive, although perpetually limping along. Actually they were very short sighted. With a little more effort, they could have had a wonderful thing going, but they chose to ignore the site.

Actually, I believe that A2K is far superior a site in terms of its features. Thank you Craven!

I just read through this entire thread. (Oh, I'm a poet). First, I want to thank everyone involved in getting this excellent site up and running. And now I have a bit of a confession to make. I was sunniegirl on Abuzz. Actually, I still am, but I haven't been going there much since I joined A2K. I check my interactions involved in, maybe check a few new interactions, see the same old garbage for the most part and I'm done with it.

I found the link to this site in an Abuzz thread and had to have a look. This is a much friendlier place, much more to my liking.

I don't know why I decided to go with a different name here. I guess I like variety! There are so many of the good people here from Abuzz, it's great to see all of you!

I felt honored when I saw that roger wanted to invite me to join A2K. I decided I better 'fess up so he won't spend too much time wondering how to get ahold of me. I took my e-mail address off of my Abuzz profile quite a while back when I started getting strange e-mails that seemed to be connected to Abuzz.

Piffka, I have interacted with you some here, yet I don't remember you from Abuzz. Did you have a different name there?

I will probably still check Abuzz occasionally, or maybe not. I'm just so happy to be HERE!

If it weren't for Craven's insistance that I stay here, I probably would have left when a lot of long-time Abuzzers showed up. I'm glad that I stayed.

Ya'll are a wonderful bunch of people. Sometimes I still feel like I don't fit in, but ya can't have everything. I'll just keep plugging along.....Or deal with Craven's wrath. <love ya....mean it, man!>

Thanks Rae. I know the feeling you have, but I don't understand why you feel that way. I never felt like I really fit into Abuzz. That's some of the reason I used a different name here. I also like the word chatoyant, and where the heck else could I ever use it? I'm gonna hang in here and do my best to fit in. I've felt a lot of warmth from the people here so far. Thanks all!
