Don't you think you guys are taking either politics or able2know a tad too seriously? I'm puzzled by the mindset that it would take to go out of your way just to try to make sure someone knows you don't like them.

I swear, internet message boards make normally decent people look socially retarded on a daily basis. I know, as I'm sure I've been guilty of it myself.

Well said ! One who goes out of his/her way to express "contempt" for the "person" of another poster here -- someone we know ONLY by what is written here -- is confusing this dialogue with real life.

We all annoy each other from time to time, but the fact that we keep coming back indicates that we, each in his own way, find something agreeable or beneficial about the experience here. It is irrational to become really angry at some poster, and then to engage him/her again and again.

There is an old riff about the academic world --- QUESTION Why are academic rivalries pursued so tenaciously and with such bitterness ?
ANSWER - "Because the stakes are so low."

I believe that applies here. We merely exchange words and ideas on a web page - there are no consequences, and no one keeps score. Why get angry????

Try getting called a racist animal abuser because you hunt and don't support illegal immigration.

Try it sometime. See if you don't get a little pissed off.

We calls 'em as we reads 'em.

Didn't you just call Snood a racist pig on the thread congratulating him on his marriage?

nimh, the company you keep is not my problem.

You might try visiting some real right wing sites before labeling me.

Allright cjhsa. You say you're not a rightwinger; you're a moderate. Serious question, then: are there any current major presidential candidates - Giuliani, Thompson, McCain, Romney, Hillary, Obama, Edwards - that you would consider to be to the right of you, politically?

None of them. So what? They are all trying to appeal to the widest possible audience. Of that bunch, Thompson is my choice for pres.

I took one of those "how conserative are you" tests once and came out left of Reagan. If that helps any.

re: the republican candidates here is my suggestion.

take half of them... either half.... lay them side by side and **** on them.

take the other half and use them to cover up the first half.
