Oh darn !!! I came of age cyberly at that site. Truely it will always be a milestone in all that followed.

Hope that doesn't mean the spammers are coming......although I think a couple of their most obnoxious are already here under a different guise......

discontinued. We are ending the service due to limited resources for

My first online community experience. Was only there for a bit of the glory days, but those were pretty damn fun.

Still...nice to think that the trolls will go under along with the site.

Can't say I feel that sentimental about it...most of the people I liked over there ended up here.....in the end it was a fun place to drop in on and curse and act like an ass hole....but never held a candle to A2K....this place feels like a real community and I like being in a place where I'm constrained from running wild and being a dick all the time.....

Did we all log on at once? Or can I just no longer get in myself?

I'm there right now, saving stuff.

I definitely wanna track down a few things nimh wrote.

and I'm going to go back and save some threads with Mary Pope in a starring role.

ehBeth and all got in for one brief moment. Still remember Phoenix's urging to post something after 9/11. Hope that Max responds. Poor C.I. left and went back to Abuzz..then......................................................

There are those that I will NOT miss...

Some of the best on Abuzz, took place on 9/11/01. That day, Abuzz proved to be an excellent site, useful to the whole world.

Oh my!

I feel so sad.


That place was a wonder and a glory.

I am almost glad, in a weird way, though, because seeing the torrent of horrid drivel that overwhelmed it was like watching a loved one struggling with cancer.

However, the patient was still able to be herself again sometimes - and I will miss Abuzz sorely.

I do hope some of the wonderful folk there who have refused to come here will join us now.

Sigh.....

I never knew Abuzz in it's better days, yet still I feel a little sad. It's always a little disheartening to see soemthing so well loved disappear from the world.

Thank goodness we have A2K.

Terribly sad that something so good was allowed to become so bad! A pox on the NYT!

Frank Apisa reports that the traffic on Abuzz of late has been wild and wooly, but not much of substance........
